This place is a Miller & Carter restaurant who ‘specialise’ in steak. The food is OK and some of it could be classed as nice although my meal wasn’t particularly good. I had salmon with mango salsa that was pretty much non existent and incredibly oily crushed fried potatoes. I’m pretty sure it didn’t mention them being fried on the menu, just served with gremolata which had also become fried by association. I made the school boy error of tipping them on to my plate like I do with all potatoes that come in additional/unnecessary crockery and had to limit the onslaught of oil with a chive garnish! However, it is a big place and its always rammed and booking is essential as there are not many other local options. This also means it takes ages to be served, so much so one of our party who was ‘in the know’, ordered two pints of beer to sustain him until the waitress finally returns. Overall, if your expectations are low and/or your options are limited then book yourself up here and don’t forget that additional beer!

I visited the camelot recently, having not been for some time. Upon arrival it has clearly had a major refurbishment. I was quite peckish but the bar the bar was so comfortable that i decided to have a drink first before moving into the restaurant. I was immediately greeted by an extremely friendly lady who enquired whether or not i would be dining in the restaurant. She made me aware that there was a choice of different menus on offer. I chose a steak which is served with onion loaf and i have i have to say it was a perfect accompaniment. My whole experience was exceptional and i will be visiting again soon!!!
