Vine Inn

I stopped here for a meal with the kids on the way home from visiting Peppa Pig World. The pub looked inviting from the start but changed once inside. Several staff left the kitchen area and looked scruffy. When we ordered the food they had no fish fingers or mash for the kids. The food did arrive quickly and the staff were polite and helpful finding some paper and pens for the kids to play with but other than that this isn’t a place I’ll be visiting again.

cheap standard pub grub, almost to an acceptable standard, yet surprisingly busy, even on a tuesday evening. maybe it is me being fussy. being attached to a Premier Inn it ought to be better. food was okay but could have been hotter. staff okay but some seem a little disinterested and just ‘going through the motions’, especially the males. would not choose to come back again.

I went to this place after visiting Paultons Park and i would never go back, as a family of 5 (1 in a highchair) we were shown to a table that hadnt been cleared and only had 3 seats, the lad cleared the table then said he would go and fetch the chairs, after me standing next to my table with a wiggly 1 year old for 10 mins i noticed the same lad dishing up food to another table, so i called him over, he said sorry cant do 2 things at once ill bring them over now, which he did, next i went to the bar to get drinks there was a big queue for food so i went to the other end of the bar where there was a lad chatting to a local who had just walked up to the bar and ordered his drink, the lad looked at me and said in an arsey way if you just want drinks you still have to wait in the same queue as the food orders put a sign up then! So i joined the queue and rang my wife and told her to bring up the food order as i might aswell order them all now.
The price was pretty cheap about £36 for 3 adult meals 2 kids meals and 3 diet cokes and 1 fruit shoot.
the food then took over an hour, which with tired kids isnt great at all, i then had to go hunting for cutlery, the servers didn’t seem to mind that i was rumiging through cupboards that are around the place looking for them, none of them offered to help me just watched me rummiging. the food was pretty poor anyway so not worth the wait, the playground was pretty good for the kids though but as it rained the kids were all inside. if your looking for a quiet place to eat avoid this place as its full of screaming tired hungry kids that have just come from a theme park.

Used this place when I stayed at the adjoining Premier Inn. The service is a bit slap dash and nonchalant with one member of staff publicly having an argument with the duty manager about what he had been asked to do. But I guess the low prices are what attract people here. Is was very busy and the food was plentiful for a very small price. My meal was overcooked and the children had roast dinners that were clearly microwaved and therefore tasteless. It has an outside play area and an adjoining wacky warehouse indoor soft play area. I had a decent pint of Ringwood but I don’t think I’d bother with this place again.
