Hellaby Hall Hotel

Hotel looks better from the outside than inside unfortunately… Old furniture everywhere, only clean when not looking too closely. Applies to the room as well. Kettle was old and shockingly disgusting from the inside.
Food quality varies quite a lot both at the bar and the restaurant. Staff mostly friendly. WiFi is free but offers crappiest connection I ever had at a hotel and is incredibly slow.

When visiting this hotel I paid £74 for a double room & breakfast for two people on an offer through a group buy site, the room was apparently one of their £149/​night rooms though I am somewhat skeptical about this. The room was a decent size but less than you would expect for this price, more like a fancy travel lodge room than anything too upmarket. We also bought an extra night here which was for a standard £49/​night room and they just left us in the same room… Draw from that what you will.
Breakfast was a buffet with traditional full english, cereals and juices, not bad but at £13/​head certainly overpriced, bar drinks also overpriced at £4.50 a pint and £6+ for a double+mixer… this is in Rotherham not London. (local bar prices outside were £2/​pint)
The gym is fairly well equipped and a nice bonus, seemed pretty empty as was the pool with only a few other people using the facilities.
The staff were friendly and accomodating, overall a nice hotel that justified the price we paid but at full price would certainly be overpriced. If you want any spa treatments book in advance too, I was told that there was a 1 week waiting list for a massage when I asked at reception.

Hellaby Hall Hotel is a high quality establishment. It is very popular as a wedding venue. I got married there in 2005 and the staff went out of their way to make our day very special.
They were able to deal with large numbers of people for catering, and the rooms were refurbished round about then, and are very tastefully done. I can highly recommend the honeymoon suite.
Guests have access to the gym, swimming pool and facilities, and there are also beauticians on site who can provide all the usual treatments.
Rooms are quite pricey compared to other rooms in the local area but i think they are worth it.

A very rare, and completely deserved, five star rating for this country house hotel on the outskirts of Rotherham, and within easy reach of the M1 and M18 motorways.
There are around 90 bedrooms in the complex, including a number of luxury suites, most of which offer views over the rolling countryside.
The hotel do a booming conference and wedding trade, and as one of the few places in the area which offer genuine professionalism and quality, its usually booked long in advance. we’ve used the delegate facilities on a number of occasions, and its pretty much faultless. One of the conference rooms can cater for up to 500 delegates!
Guests also have full use of the in house fitness suite, which offers a modern gym, 20m swimming pool, health spa, sauna, steam room and sun-​beds.
Staff take pride in their work and are happy to help. Food in the main restaurant is superb, and snacks in the public areas and room service is all of a high quality.
Its probably a little more expensive than anywhere else locally, but you really do get what you pay for, and if you want a comfortable and quality stay in the local area, then this is the place to stay at.
