I don’t have particularly high expectations of supermarket cafes but, in order to be fair, I have to judge them against other cafes. If there is a ‘full English’ on offer I’ll normally take it and this visit was no exception. My son chose a toasted sandwich. I felt a little disappointed with the quality of my breakfast, the bacon was fatty and the mushrooms greasy. The biggest let down though, was the sausage, it was bland and dry and a real struggle to eat. I assume that supermarkets use their own products in their cafes and if this is the case I urge Morrison’s to start using one of their better sausages and stop saving pence by serving up the budget brand. The café food can be a great advertisement for the food in store and they are blowing it. My son’s sandwich came with a reasonable portion of chips and was quite sufficient to fill him. With drinks the bill was over £10, more than i expected from Morrison’s especially considering the poor quality.
