Having lived in Royston for all of 4 weeks now we thought we’d try out a local takeaway. MasterFryer does all the usual chip shop fayre. We got 2 x fish and chips(or fish suppers still being in Scottish mode) and sausage in batter and chips. The chips were very greasy something I really don’t like so I had to pat down with kitchen roll to remove excess and pop in oven to help improve them. This did help somewhat and they tasted not too bad. The fish did taste lovely but I think I’ll have to get used to getting them served with the skin on something I’m not used too. The batter was ok but not light or crisp enough. My daughter’s sausage the batter was really yucky. Very heavy and dough like. She normally loves batter but refused to eat it and I can’t blame her. The actual sausage was good and she enjoyed this. All in all a mixed bag really. I guess as time goes on I will discover if these are differences I should expect from moving to a different area but I have to say that I could murder a fish supper from my usual Edinburgh chippie!
