After several visits to this superb establishment, I am very surprised that the royal family haven’t found it. In the historic village of Dunchurch it stands as a beacon of Old World Britishness in a way that Beef Wellington was a past symbol for good cooking and standard Sunday fayre. We try to ensure that we visit at least once a month because it is well worth the effort. As the business has been in service for over 20 years, there is a well-worn service standard of food that make the like of Toby look positively pitiful in comparison. The drinks can be quite pricey(Over £2.00 for a glass of soda water) but the food is more than brilliant. You may be able to have as much as you want to try eat and possibly even have seconds if the first course wasn’t enough to begin with. Usually a 3 course meal for £25 a head. BOOKINADVANCE! 3 days or more should be sufficient for most or avoid the rush hours and squeeze in when they have a free table. Perfect venue to stuff your client full of quality food and great atmosphere with attentive staff. Wouldn’t expect young children to be much trouble as it’s not that sort of place. Best place to buy your cooked Christmas meat from instead of doing it at home. This is my food heaven.

great carvery, food is always delicious. lots of choice. can get very busy though when waiting in line for buffet. inside, décor is a little outdated and feels a bit dark and stuffy but if it’s oldy village style dining you’re after then it’s perfect. can’t beat it on a sunday for a treat — as it’s quite expensive.

As a new qype user I feel compelled to give the huntsman my 1st review I have been using this place for years and have never never had a bad meal the place is just pure quality, I am salivating now just thing of the good old English tucker. Don’t get me wrong I love my ethnic food but for good English cuisine this place cannot be beaten(maybe matched but not beaten) although I am yet to find anywhere of the same standard. Adrian is the head chef a right Jolly Character, he just knows his stuff. Its about £22.00 a head I think for 3 courses everything is homemade and all this will be explained to you whilst at the hot plate(I wont spoil the chefs patter) the crackling is absolutely something to die for as is the smoked turkey the pâté is home made as are all the sauces. Meats on are turkey– ham– beef Yorkie puddings that are light as a feather and just exquisite Surroundings are spotless as a big bloke I need to sit comfortably and I can here no problems. Attitude of staff spot on and they really want you there and you are made very welcome. Good wine selection and do not take the mick on prices. Tips Dont eat during the day if your going here in the evening Dont talk to Adrian if his carving the meat for your plate he just won’t stop putting it on. Want to go there for xmas lunch give them 5 years notice there highly likely fully booked Got foreign visitors coming over this is what they think English food is all about trust me you will love this place

We booked a table for a group of us at fairly short notice and they were really helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious from starters right through to the desserts(some of us even took desserts home with us!). Staff were very helpful and friendly and they were brilliant at offering vegetarian meals including gravy and roast potatoes. Would definitely recommend :-)

We have been visting for over 20 years, which speaks for itself and whenever friends come to stay with us from around the country we always make a point of having dinner at the Huntsman. I’ve yet to find anywhere that serves a carvery as good as this. Forgot portion controlled national chains, which charge £8 for bland over cooked food. Adrian and his staff serve top quality food and lots of it too. They usually get booked up very quickly(always a good sign) but we have on occasion managed to get a table at short notice(i.e. the same day as calling them). 10⁄10 rating from us.

The best Carvery I’ve ever had. The staff are pleasant and the food is beyond phenomenal. The owner, Adrian, mans the carvery himself and always makes you feel welcome. The meat is always perfectly cooked and the selection of starters and vegetables is great. It’s a little pricey and can be hard to get a reservation, but definately worth it!

Legenday carvery for everyone whom lives in the area!!! they do the most gorgeous roastioes and yorkshire puddings and is great for the whole family. the only downside is having to book so much in advance as always seems to be fully bookes, not the sort of place you can just turn up. the décor is really cosy and warm the staff are the greatest assett to this place — they are fantastic great place — one to visit definatly — prices range from £15 upwards, more than others in the area but i prefer quality rather than the cost.

great restaurant situated in dunchurch village. I think everyone in rugby knows this place as its reknown for the most gorgeous carvery ever. The village is a beautiful part of rugby and its well worth a visit. The restaurant is loverly decorated with a beautiful feature window which was commisioned by a local artist. The food though is the thing that makes it famous around our parts, the carveries are amazing, the real gravy, the gorgeous home made yorkshire puddings and desserts are amazing. The normal prices you are looking at for a meal and drink is atleast 40 – 50 pounds for a couple dependant on what drinks you are going for. The staff are great and seemed to have worked there forever, i think this is mainly due to the warmth and atmosphere you feel as soon as you walk in the door. I would reccommend though to always book well in advance as they get very busy due to their popularity especially on a sunday. Give it a try if you live near as it really is a great great place to eat.
