The Horns Inn

Had a family trip to Rugeley and stopped at the Horns to meet everybody.
Good selection of beer and all 8 of us had good meals. Very happy with it and not too dear. Would definately go back. Oh and Pete (If i remember correctly) owner /​Chef was very friendly. Lovely location close to the Chase.

Good location by Cannock Chase and an attractive dining area. That’s unfortunately all the good news from me. The waitress was very busy — folding napkins and there were few customers. Alarm bells should have been ringing. The visit was for Sunday lunch and their price is set at the quality end. For two courses each plus cokes it was over £21. If the meal had been good, fine but it was well below average. Awful tomato and basil soup which was also served up as sauce with the veggie option. This was described as roasted but was fried with plenty of fat. The roast pork was a cheap cut, stringy and tasteless. It looked as bad as it tasted. We left starving — not prepared to chance the sweet course. The cokes were alright.

A nice meal pub, good food, nice wine and beer. Not much to complain about regarding the place, high price is why its only four stars
