Audley End is a Jacobean Mansion built in 1603-ish and is another crazy big home to tour. The gardens are amazing as well done by Capability Brown… if you know his work, the trip to Audley End is worth it just for that. THey have a guided Home tour that is about 1 hour. We had a group and one person whos child was acting up and had to take her out because of the noise. So if you want to take kids you may need to consider that. There are LARGE gardens for them to burn off energy to. One of my favorites, was the«Service Wing at Work». Where you can walk into a room and watch on the wall a video of a gal making butter, or making food etc. This section would be great for Homeschoolers .Its well worth the ticket cost if you didnt get a «English Heritage Pass».(With that, we just got waved in.)
