They got me over a barrel as it’s the only gym close to where I live and work. I wouldn’t go if I had any other viable option. Main takeaways after having gone several times now: staff on reception are nice and friendly, machines in the gym are dated — simple functions, no built in heart rate monitors etc. The gym floor is full of silly heavy weight types who pose around and make a lot of noise dramatically dropping heavy weights on the weight machines. I have no idea why they aren’t told off or asked to leave — perhaps because they are the only regulars? Classes are almost impossible to get a place at — you must reserve 8 days in advance and they go within minutes. It is almost impossible to attend a spin class for this reason. They really ought to do a first come first served system like Nuffield. Swimming pool is alright in down times when not crazy busy, but there are a lot of creeps that sit around the pool and just watch you. I would only recommend if you live nearby and don’t have a car to get somewhere else…
