We went to the Hope as a family for lunch my wife daughter(2yrs old) and myself. Despite it being Friday they had no fish so we ordered fry ups and pasta with starter for daughter. A full 45 minutes later with no food on the horizon even though the place was at the most 25% full. When we asked the manager what was going on he said we were being confrontational and he would walk away. I then demanded our money back and went to the Captain Cod chippy down the rd. Absent of any kind of service whatsoever and the place needs a good clean. Both myself and my wife have worked in the leisure industry and customer service sector and this was unacceptable.

Fantastic Pub! Something for everyone, Food is tasty and reasonably priced as are the beverages. Great staff, excellent quiz nights every tuesdays from 9pm, a real must, Disco nights on Friday. Safety in pub is brilliant with doorstaff there to prevent rather than react to any silliness.

Now it has been refurbished this is a very cosy and friendly pub to enjoy a night out in. With the added bonus of very good and well priced food, although the service can sometimes be tad poor(had to wait 30 minutes for meal last time – but upon tasting it was worth the wait.) The entertainment at weekends is good and varied with the live bands being not to noisy, it all makes for a good night out.

Formerly the Inn of Good Hope(and still referred to by locals as such), the pub lies opposite what used to be Hope Hospital(now Salford Royal Hospital). In itself it’s not a bad place, beer prices are perhaps just above average, the pub grub ain’t great but ain’t bad either, but it suffers from a real atmosphere problem — ranging from dead during the week, to pretty threatening at the weekend when local youths come to get tanked up before a night in town, fights have been known to break out fairly regularly. It’s also been raided twice in the last five years — this appears to be an occupational hazard for pubs in this area of Salford, and although it’s not happened for a while, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if it happened again. It’s ok to go for a quiet one midweek but otherwise I’d jump on a bus and grab a pint closer to town instead.

The Hope was known as the inn of good hope and is located near Hope hospital, off Eccles Old Road, The pub has been refurbished to provide a contemporary feel, with large wooden units, and amazing art work. The Pub has a great beer garden, SKYTV and provides 2 for a £10 Meals on selected days during the week. The atmosphere is cosy and would suit the over 25years, the bar staff are friendly and it’s a fun pub to relax in. Would recommend to local people and people visiting the hospital from outside the area.
