Charter 1227

Perfection. I wanted my 100^th review to be for a really special place — and I found it at Charter 1227. Danny is a master chef and a generous human being who finds joy in preparing the most exquisite food and in the pleasure it gives to those who eat it. I’ve been waiting impatiently for this restaurant to re-​open and it surpassed my expectations. The crab ravioli is simply divine and Danny’s signature dish. We shared the fillet of beef and breast of duck entrees as we couldn’t decide between the two only to find they were equally beyond compare. We shared a dessert so sublime that we can’t actually remember it’s name (a coffee torte with amaretto ice-​cream) and a bottle of Chianti. The only detractor was that the food was so delicious that you wanted to savour every mouthful and so delicious you just wanted to stuff your face! 3 courses and wine for 2 (with complimentary Remys and the best view of the market square in Salisbury) came to a snitch over £80. The best meal in Salisbury and the best value for money!
