Nice place for a drink but the food is over priced and average at best!
It’s a confusing concept in the restaurant as the staff are dressed casually so it’s hard at times to work out who’s staff and who are customers! When we ate here we weren’t shown to a table just pointed in the right direction to find a table, by presumably the manager, with a (tiny) name card on it, then when it came to ordering we didn’t know who was staff and who wasn’t but managed to accost a young man who luckily turned out to be a server. It wasn’t made clear whether we were supposed to get our own drinks from the bar or could order from him but I think it was the case to get our own as the server in question appeared awkward when we asked if we could order a drink from him! The meal for 2 of us cost just short of £85 and there were only two drinks on the bill of a pint and a half of draught cider and 2 courses each. Not somewhere I would visit again for food there are places much better for less money!
That said I’ve enjoyed going in there for a drink and we do visit every time We are out and would recommend but only for drinks!

Great place. Super staff, great food and atmosphere.
We’ve just come back from Spain and couldn’t be bothered to cook so off we popped. Not the same as eating abroad but hey it’s excellent.
btw 5 stars are due to the tokens we’ve collected over the visits we’ve made so we got £24 off — bargain.
We only managed starters and a main each due to being tired and enjoying the quality and the quantity of the food. A shared bottle of house prosseco helped us along nicely.
Curried cauliflower soup and pâté for starters were both excellent. Mains of steak and battered fish was also excellent.
All good and looking forward to our next visit

Yes, finally a decent eatery in the South Cheshire area. High quality food, good service, knowledgeable staff who are attentive. This place is run by the same company who run the Hand and Trumpet in Betley. They know what they are doing.
The menu is big and varied. Highly recommended.

We were very pleasantly surprised that the beautiful outside of this restaurant was matched by excellent service and delicious food inside.
The staff were friendly and helpful and were very accommodating to us and our baby.
The conservatory at the back means that the dining area it feels spacious and light.
I had the sausage and mash which was delicious as well as being a generous portion.
Excellent all round, would highly recommend.
