Great place to take the kids. Lovely view of Beer, real miniature steam train is good fun, park has slides swings, adventure playground. Recommended for a day out with kids.

A great day out if the weather is fine. For families with children, there is much to keep all entertained, but limited indoor activities /attractions. Nevertheless, all the facilities and gardens are well maintained, clean, litter-free and the staff are friendly. A model railway exhibition and shop can be found in the building at the entrance and there are a number of good restaurants, you can even take a cream tea on the lavish Pullman railway carriage. Take a stroll through the gardens, a steam train ride, let the kids loose on the play areas. All are included in the price, with the exception of the crazy golf course. Overall an enjoyable day’s outing and great value.

Hard to know how to rate this, so on balance I’ve gone for 3 stars, but at for certain families it will be 5stars, for some people no stars! You have to come here if and when your kids get into model railway, and many do seem to have an age of being fascinated by train sets even nowadays. At that time they will be in their element. Inside there are lots of model railway layouts and outside is a 1 mile track of a minitaure light railway. There’s more added to make a family day out, especially during the school holidays when there is a circus stage and face painting, also there are play areas. For the grown ups there are some nice, but small gardens laid out, I particularly like the contrast of the vibrant reds and yellows of the sun garden with the muted lilacs and silvers of the moon garden. Ultimately though you need to be interested to see model railways really so best for under 10s or enthusiasts.
