Came in for the buffet, and I walked out of there F’ing STUFFED! Service could’ve been quicker though.

My second favourite Indian in Sheffield. Great from start to finish. Personally love the Fish masala as a starter and their lamb dishes are always good. Situated in Leopold Sq with some good places for a drink before and after.

I saw good reviews and was excited to continue my Indian food experience. I should have taken heed when I saw the boast on the door«UK’s largest indian food chain restaurant». The good news is that the buffet offers a wide sampling of different dishes. The bad is that they are very weak examples. I am some what new to this cuisine, and have been sampling on my UK tour. The quality of the ingredients is weak, compared to a few family owned places I have visited. The price was fair and the atmosphere nice, but it is a mill that churns through food and guests at a fast pace.

This Indian restaurant is by far the nicest we’ve ever had the pleasure to dine in. From the moment we entered we were greeted with friendly staff, delicious food, excellent cocktails and scrumptious desserts(must try peanut butter stack) Gutted we are leaving sheffield today and can’t try this place once more

Aagrah has clearly established itself as one of the go to places when one has the desire for India food. It is on the high scale side I would say and prices to go with it. The décor is very nice and accented well with Indian music playing in the background. The dinning area is also large and the restaurant itself can accommodate a good number of people. The service itself it good and as in most Indian restaurants, you’ll find several people catering to your needs, with the main waiter always checking up to see things are going okay. I’ve had both the buffet and ordered from the menu. In buffet itself is okay, but the food does have a tendency to not be as warm as it should or has dried out. On the other hand, I’ve always had a great experience when it comes to ordering from the menu. If you’re willing to spend some extra money, or wanting a special evening and craving Indian food, then Aagrah is a good choice.

If you are looking for Indian fine dining, look no more, Agraah is the place! I love the choice of curries they have, as somehow I do not see pasanda everywhere. The waiters are attentive and the food comes promptly. I went there with a large group but also for a date and both experiences were great. The central location in Leopold Square is also a bonus. This is the perfect place to try Indian food for the first time or convert people to Indian food!

Aagrah is now at the top of our list of restaurants for a nice night. The food is wonderful and the staff is generally attentive. It can get a bit loud when busy, but that seems to help the lively atmosphere.

Lovely restaurant situated within Leopold Square in the centre of Sheffield, good atmosphere and great food. Well worth a visit.
I’ve eaten here several times, and loved it every time. The restaurant is decked out in fancy color and décor — to the point that I almost always feel under-dressed when I arrive. The wait staff is exceedingly attentive and generally very accurate. At least 50% of the time when I come our order is messed up, but they always correct problems quickly and it’s never messed up much(really, them missing a naan or two in a party of 16 people is forgivable). :) The food is excellent. It’s still slightly British Indian(I got used to a slightly different style of Indian food earlier in life, and am adjusting to what the British call Indian food) but the use of spices and flavors is definitely more representative of the various regions of India, and the breakdown in the menu of foods by region is quite nice. They have a huge variety of styles, heat levels and ingredients, so that you can take a large group here and rest assured that everyone will find something to eat. Unless they don’t like Indian food, in which case they don’t count. Strongly recommended!

This is a fantastic restaurant. The food is first-rate, the service is first class, the atmosphere is wonderful, the prices are really good for a town centre venue right at the heart of things, marks out of 10 I give it 11. As a visitor to Sheffield and not a local finding it was a little difficult, the address being misleading. Leopold Square is in actual fact a small inner courtyard with lots of lively happenings. So if you like Indian Cuisine, lively atmosphere and being at the heart of things without having to sell a kidney the Agraah is the place to go.

We were spending Spring Break in the East Midlands, and were stayed in Sheffield and through Unilocal we decided to go to this restaurant. Although we spent a very long time to find it through GPS, by the time we actually found it we were extremely hungry and tired. Despite all that we really enjoyed our visit! The environment is very nice, the food is just so delicious, the staff is very friendly and the service is fast and efficient, the bill was very reasonable! We had the best time and it is highly recommended. I remember the chicken butter was awesome and the shrimp curry was out of this world! I asked for some of the cucumber(for the kids) they used for garnishing the dishes and the waiter was so nice and generous to bring two plates full of cucumber, it was so soothing after the spicy food. The waiters were very attentive throughout!

As a two-time diner of this superb Indian restaurant, I have encountered differing(yet equally satisfying) experiences. The first of which, was a pre-booked visit on my eighteenth birthday, accompanied by a large group of friends and family(many whom wouldn’t normally be invited to public places, but luckily for a recently divorced, socially inept family friend, who I’ve had to call ‘uncle’ for nineteen years, and my Granfather — an unconventional ex-soldier who seems to believe every waiter is called ‘Oi’ — this custom is ignored for an eighteenth birthday). The service was impeccable. Throughout the duration of the meal, waiters(all named ‘Oi’) were constantly on hand. The food was beautiful, even if a Danny Devito-sized family friend had conveniently forgotton the name of his curry, and concluded it best to raise his arm and say«that’s mine» to the majority of dishes that were served, leaving a few without meals. However, a confused ‘Oi’ managed to satisfy the foodless parties with their desired curries. The second of my two visits occurred on a reunion of school-friends, before a night out in Sheffield. This was a decision made on-the-spot, as a result from the satisfaction of my first visit, and twelve of us proposed the task for an ‘Oi’ to accommodate our visit. Although the place was packed, the Aagrah came up trumps once again, managing to throw a few tables together and seat us within ten minutes of walking through the door. I would, and do, reccommend this restaurant to anybody. However, I’d wait until your 19th birthday. P.S, the Aagrah have another restaurant in Leeds, which I hope to visit very soon.

Been here half a dozen times and it lives up to the expectations of the previous time. The menu is extensive and fresh fish also available. Fully Licensed and very spacious. The meals I have had here have always been fine. Alhtough the food is nice but it’s not that tasty that you would remember it for a long time, although technically correct I suppose but not that way that you would ‘lick your lips ’ at the thought of eating there tonight. The service is spot on and professional.

All I can say is wow! I came here with about 10 other people for dinner, I had the Lamb Tandori as well as a shrimp skewer(forgive me as I forgot the name), with onions, peppers and rice. We all shared our dishes and everything was outstanding. I really need to do better in remembering the specific names of the dishes but I suppose I need to pronounce them first! Service was excellent, beers were cold and food fresh spicy and hot. If you ever in the area and fancy a curry, then this is your place !

I like the story behind the Aagrah name. Stuck with only a mish-mash of random letters for his first restaurant’s sign, the founder of the chain simply fashioned a name from the bric-à-brac on the spot. The word Aagrah of course, means absolutely nothing in any language. This slick restaurant is the latest in the North_Eastern chain and brings the Aagrah to Sheffield. Everything feels shiny and new: the staff are keen to impress and the food is both tasty and accessible. Start with the Lahore Makli the fish has a sharp, citric taste which awakens the taste buds. From there, there’s a good range of old favourites, chef’s specials and real Aagrah signatures, the Specialities to Order in Advance. A ‘Whole Stuffed Lamb’ anyone? It feeds 15 and costs £210. Needless to say, I haven’t tried this one, but I doubt the people would forget the party in a hurry. It’s a fine place to visit on a school night. Should you go on a Friday or Saturday though, everything changes. Are you finished sir? is typically asked when you’re halfway through a dish, as is Another drink? when you’ve barely touched your current one. Being rushed through a meal so the restaurant can maximise profits really irritates me, and I usually find myself purposely slowing down and not tipping as a result. While I’m being critical I should also point out that the really spicy dishes well aren’t. This is a shame because the Aagrah’s a great chain and it’s good to have a unit in Sheffield.
