Costa Coffee

On the whole I’m a great fan of Costa, but 2 uninspiring visits to different branches in a row… I visited this Costa on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30, so a busy time. It’s a big place, a very large downstairs. I know this should be a busy time of day, but where were the staff? Just 3 serving. The queue was long, over 10 minutes to get served. I saw many people walk in and walk out. Downstairs was hardly a quarter full, so the place can cope with many more customers. There were lots of dirty plates piling up at the counter, many more uncollected downstairs. The cakes and drinks were good, no problem there, but an extra one or 2 staff would make the difference.
Central location is good, I didn’t use the wifi. The steps downstairs are very, very steep. I wouldn’t like to be carrying a tray of drinks if it had been raining. Room for improvement!

Staff could be more helpful. Service is not with a smile. Must have been a bad day.
