Norfolk Arms

Have stayed here multiple times over the last few years and love the charm. The people that work the pub and hotel are super nice and it’s a great opportunity to participate in the English charm of the place. Great views of the country side. It’s not the ritz Carlton and you are expecting that you are in the wrong part of the country. This place is fabulous.

Have to say that I am glad I ignored the two reviews posted here. Checked in this lunchtime and this pub hotel is a real gem. The staff, without exception have been attentative, and the food coming out of the kitchen has been great (And good value too!). The room was of a high standard, and cleanliness is ¹⁰⁄₁₀. I love the open fire and log burner, and there is a good selection of wines and drinks. I will be back, just a shame the hotel side does not allow dogs.

This place has recently had a refurbishment and the results are a clean contemporary take on country rustic pub. The building is stunning, as are the surroundings, its just a shame there isn’t much of a view from the pub itself.
The staff in here seem confused. The man who served us was brusk and ran off immediately to check food was still being served even though it was only half 2, and the menu said food until 3. He then took our order rather stand offishly.
The food was good (paninis) but the chips came without dip even though it stated dip on the menu. The chips however, were the best i’d ever had. Huge fluffy chips as big as a builders fingers.

If you’re considering going to the Norfolk Arms in Ringinglow for a meal don’t. We went yesterday and had a terrible experience.
We paid for our food upfront and waited patiently, but seeing that other people who arrived after we did were being served before us, we enquired what was happening. This was to several waitresses and the man who took our order.
After waiting for MORE THAN AN HOUR we were approached by a man who we presumed to be the manager.
He confirmed what we’d ordered and said that two tables had been given our order number and they had brought the food out three times, but it had gone to the other table, who already had their food.
On no occasion did he apologise for this and actually very smarmily insinuated that it was our fault despite no-​one coming near our table with what looked like our food.
Then when we finally received our food, it was plonked in front of us with out a word and when we’d finished, taken away without so much as a ‘how was your meal?’.
And as well as this terrible service, the food itself was very average. At £10 for a Sunday dinner, you’d certainly expect more.
In short, we were treated really badly and will never go again. We’d advise you to do the same!
