The Pheasant public house is ideally situated as an occasional music venue at the traffic lights at Sheffield lane top in the area of Shiregreen in Sheffield. Its location makes the pub easy to find for those visiting from elsewhere to see the rock and folk bands that play often on a Friday night. The pub itself is an old black beamed building that was once, or so it is said, a coaching house for travellers on their way to Sheffield. Nowadays the pub is not in the best of repair and appears to attract an interesting bunch of customers. The staffs however are polite and helpful and the range of beers and wines on offer are great. What are endearing are the snacks available behind the bar, remember those little bags with a cracker, lump of cheese and pickled onion. yes you will still find them here.

Its quite an ‘old fashioned pub’ has a mix of common people in(not a problem) but alot of chavs(rude and bad mannored), it totally destroys the potentail atmosphere, plus it definately aint a pub id go into again. barstaff wasnt friendly when i went, i dont know if its cos im a ‘stranger’ or what. but do not recommend
