The Venue is still in it’s early stages and my experience with the management as well as what I’ve heard from people I know that works for The Venue leads me to believe a lot of changes have to be made for it to be successful. A lot of effort has been put into providing the people of Stocksbridge with a variety of live bands and tribute acts, as well as comedians and it should be respected for that. The Venue itself consists of several live entertainment rooms and 2 bar areas. One for the younger generation which looks more like a student bar and one for the WMC generation which has the WMC look about it(which is what the building used to be). The range of beer on offer is okay and prices are modest. There is generally a good atmosphere but it simply does not appeal to me as somewhere I want to spend my evenings. Mainly because it’s seems to much like a college venue. It’s got a lot of potential though and hopefully over time it will become established as a quality night out.
