Lovely place by the River. Excellent food locally sourced and freshly prepared. I tried to book a table but was told all booked between 7pm and 9pm, but would be able to get a table outside. Tables outside cannot be booked. We arrived at 6.30pm. All tables inside were empty with reserved signs on them. Outside was packed apart from 2 tables. Surprise, surprise, they had reserved signs! We managed to get a table and placed our orders. The wait for the food was about 20 minutes, but we had a very good vantage people watching and the time flew. Three of opted for the beef burgers and one for the chicken burger. We also shared a large bowl of nachos. Food was delicious and my friends said the beers were pretty dam good as well. I would have given five stars but they are missing out on serving more covers and passing trade by reserving all the tables inside for a 2 hour block. Must mention the waiters and waitresses, they were excellent. Will be visiting again next farmers market day.

My first fish and chips in the UK!!! And it was delicious. To be fair, I’m going to guess that the fish and chips throughout the rest of the country don’t charge what the Bridge Inn charges. Though the 11−12GBP was totally worth it. The tatar sauce was to die for — I have no idea what was in that stuff, but it was amazing. The fish didn’t have too much breading on it, which I like. Plus it stayed crunchy up until the end(though I did split it, so about half the normal eating time). The chips were just fine, nothing special, and the mashed peas were lacking in flavor — I was hoping for a little more mint. We also had the crab cake — which was more like a potato pancake. I’m not sure I tasted any crab in it at all. But there were all kinds of veggies in there, and the breading was good on that as well. It tasted good — just didn’t taste like crab. The hummus was delicious — the bread hot, and lots of flavor in the hummus. The staff was super friendly and sat us right away. It does get busy on a Saturday night, so be sure to get there a bit earlier(we arrived around 6:30) to get a seat. The wine selection is pretty good and reasonably priced. I did not drink beer, but they had a few craft beer options that I saw. Overall great place to spend some money on some delicious food with a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

During the past week and the hot weather, the bridge has disappointed me greatly. On thursday evening the restaurant opened at six pm and closed at eight pm. People came and requested food and left just as quickly. To add insult to injury the waiting time for a glass of vino was 20 mins. It would appear the main people who matter are the people who buy food, not the regular customers who merely wish to have a quiet pint or two. The generals army is failing. Update. have been back since i published last review, the service was back to its usual brilliant best, 30 seconds to get a pint of refreshing Aspall cider. Will be going their this evening, so We will see how the service is as it will be hot and sunny, so it will be busy. Keep up the good work general Imgoen.

Eaten here quite a few time’s and the food has always been spot on as has the service. And the beer garden over looking the river is a loverly place to have a cold drink on a hot summers day.

Yeahhave to agree with fellow Qypers experiences here. Always good grub and what a view out back over the river. On a Summers’ eveningcan be very balmy. Food hot, drinks cold and happy, friendly staff. what more can you ask! Park up at the back of John Street if you can’t get in at The Bridge

I discovered The Bridge Inn on cycle trip to Shoreham with my girlfriend. Having cycled down the Downs Link cycle path from Upper Beeding, and made the school boy error of forgetting to bring a bike lock, we found ourselves looking for a good pub with outdoor seating and a view of the estuary so we could look at boats. Having been up and down the high street we had resigned ourselves to the inevitable and were about to call it a day when I noticed that the Bridge Inn seemed to have outdoor seating out back. At first glance you wouldn’t notice this little brick built building and even if you did it would be all too easy to dismiss it as a builder’s pub or some form of British legion. But once you go inside it soon becomes apparent that The Bridge inn is actually a rather salubrious pub-cum-restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and the available seating is all so inviting you almost expect there to be an RSVP slip. We chose to drink in the terraced patio area out back where we sat right next to the wall that separates the patio from the estuary in a cosy sheltered corner. I discovered seafarer’s ale that day too and massively enjoyed a tea cup of Bombay mix that you can pick up from the bar for a pound a cup. The prices are in line with Brighton which set me back more than I was expecting to spend in Shoreham but at the same time for such a great pub with such pleasant facilities and location.

Beautifully situated on the edge of the tidal river, this pub and B&B is the best place in the area to drink, eat and stay overnight. From our arrival on a beautiful sunny day, we knew it was going to be a glorious stay as we found a table beside the water which remained cool in the midday sun. A jug of Pimms and a few pints were had before one of the best lunchs I’ve ever had the pleasure of consuming were brought to us. Our enjoyment of the day was only heightened by the quality of the food served. The landlady was friendly and helpful from greeting us on our arrival, serving us our last drink and greeting us with coffee and orange juice before a full english breakfast in the morning. Although the rooms are not en suite, the facilities are spotless and the room a joy. With my sea view the entire experience wasperfect from start to finish. Whether you go for a pint, a meal or overnight, I strongly recommend you drive off the round-about in Shoreham and in to the car park and just treat yourself!

go here on a summers night, for a lovely view of the river(either coming in or going out!). Food is pretty good too, especially on a sunday. The garden is more a series of patios on different levels, but with the river on the doorstop, what more do you need?
