The Amsterdam is a 200 year old pub/restaurant located just a stone’s throw from Shoreham’s front. A beautiful looking building the pub is split into two sections; the a small bar and function room on the left and the huge public bar and restaurant on the right. The décor is old 70s ‘traditional pub’ which I love and the bar staff and the locals are all extremely friendly — in fact when I sat there enjoying my pint of Harvey’s, one of the locals was happy to chat about the history of Shoreham, its pubs and the current property prices.
Food wise, they have a chef’s specials board with locally sourced produce that changes from day to day and also offer a ‘2 for £10′ deal once a week. On the main menu there is all the pub classics like fish and chips, steaks and interestingly, fajitas.
There’s plenty of room for large groups and also an impressive looking garden to sit out in and watch the world go by in the summer.
