Choo choo. Silly arm movements ahoy and an excuse for me to act like a child. I don’t really need many excuses and I do it so well but a day trip with some borrowed children(not stolen officer) at the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway. I must secretly love trains as twice in one week is surely too much? As long as I don’t feel the need to start bus spotting I can cope with that. Plus when you have trains and stations of the calibre of the Worth Valley and here it doesn’t really count. This line will take you on a journey through the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. It’s the ideal way(if you can’t be bothered to walk) to see it in all it’s splendour. The stations themselves are quaint and offer some refreshments. In addition to the cafés on both stations, on most weekend running days the Buffet Car on the train will be open. This little bad boy sells no less than 30 different locally brewed beers. Oh yes it is beer paradise. See you knew booze would have to come into the equation at some point. Look out for the special events too that include the extremely popular Day Out With Thomas amongst others. The kids will love it and you’ll love it.
