A small homely middle eastern eatery in slough. The overall package is a three stars. We ordered the lunch platters — the prices were great and a free drink was included. They have the middle eastern coke — a plus. The food was microwaved, likely prepared earlier — given this the outer edge of the platter was warm but the center piece was cold, this becomes more of an issue if you are ordering meat. The rice was excellent and so was the bread.

Price, speed, service and quality all greatly surpassed expectations. We all got the lunch box special which was made up of a suprisingly varied selection(Falafel, Tabouleh, meats, rices, bread, humous, drink) for £5. We got served very quickly, the owner is actually Lebanese and the quality and variety of flavours was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back again and try out other dishes. Highly recommended. Slough’s best kept secret.

Have you ever had a Rubicon? You know, Rubicon? The carbonated fruit beverage? It comes in mango flavor here. There are many flavors of Rubicon — Lychee, Passion Fruit, Guava; they only serve mango at Al Fanouse, but it compliments all of their dishes brilliantly. Come here for lunch, their set meal dishes and their lunchbox special are terrific and well portioned, despite only setting you back a few quid. The people that work here(whose names I’ve never learned) are the friendliest group of people I’ve ever met — even though i don’t know *THEIR* names, i wouldn’t be surprised if they all knew mine. The restaurant has a front area where the kitchen /counter is among a handful of seats and tables, and a back area where the Slough youth go to smoke shisha. I don’t care for the Slough youth, but i like the smell of shisha, and you can’t really beat the atmosphere on their rear terrace, which is fenced in, and draped with various cloths to keep you shaded. For these reasons i choose to tolerate the Slough youth. My only complaint with this place(besides the Slough youth) is that the new doors they’ve installed open INTO eachother. This is a new addition to the restaurant, which struggled to stay warm throughout the biting cold of the Berkshire winter. It’s warmer now, but quite a bit more difficult to enter than it was before. I don’t care for a lack of ergonomics in my doorways, and i don’t care for Slough youth… but i love the food and the staff, so you can expect to see me here time and time again for the unforeseeable future.

One of the only middle eastern themed eateries in slough. I would personally go for the chicken shwarma(it’s a type of chicken wrap), it is brilliant. The owner is a friendly fellow who like to please his customers and with a nice new makeover inside, that is what they achieve. You may feel ripped off as the prices aren’t great, unless you are a student where you can get a discount. I wouldn’t go for any lamb dishes as they seem to be very bad every now and then. Location isn’t great but not inconveniently placed.
