I used the free radio for most of the time I was there the that was quite pleasant with the headphones on to block out all the noises in the hospital and help me sleep through the pain. I used my mobile to txt and recieve txt as the nurses allowed this just no mobile phone calls I did get a bigger phone bill at home only from hubby phoning me 3 times during my stay . I used the tv and internet for one day as I was starting to improve but it kept crashing and the tv too . They let me use my password on another vacant bed for a few hours till it was fixed(it blew up) but unfortunately the new occupant turned up for the bed before the repair man which caused a bit of a commotion. I did get fours hours added on free but I went home after 1 hour so I couldn’t even use it up :(

I didn’t even try it! At prices like this very few can afford it — me included. Aimed at sick people in hospital with very little else to distract them from their illness — THISIS A TOTALRIP-OFF. I have awarded 1 star because I have no choice — minus 1 would be more like it! Disgusted.

Rip off! I think there must be a one legged midget on the hospital roof holding the aerial whilst hopping around in order to get the picture quality on this! The system would be such an easy thing to get right, but no no no!

Have since learned this company have went bankrupt, not a sad loss! Formally the artist known as patientline These are appearing in hospitals up and down the country. a screen is at each bed supplying. Tv, radio, telephone, internet access and games. Where do i start. First of all this service is not free. They offer different packages. £2. for two hours, £3.50 for 24hours, and £7.00 for 3 days access. Now heres the con. if you dont have a switch card to pay. You buy a card from a vending machine near your ward. They come in £3,£5 and £10 cards. So you cant purchase the package you want without purchasing extra. And the cards have a big NOREFUNDS notice on them. When you finally do get it working. Its basically a freeview box your accessing. They throw in sentanta if your into sport. The picture quality is diabolical and you have to mess about with the screen to get a good view. The radio has five channels. All the bbc ones up to radio 4 and hospital radio. The games are terrible and are the ones you find in quiz machines in pubs, without the prizes. They also can take up to four minutes to load. And can crash the system(more of which later!!)The internet access is a joke. Just about everything is blocked, and it offers you to look at your emails, you cant open them when you get to your list of emails. After about 20 minutes the system crashes and refuses to let you in. This happened three times. Now when your playing the games. After about 15 minutes playing hangman on the system it broke. SO I called the help line, and they said they get an engineer around as their is one on site. 13 hours later(you count time when your in hospital!!) the engineer arrived. Looked at it and reset it. I said can I use the internet on it. Reply was classic. I wouldn’t as it hangs up the server, and so does the games. Id just stick to the telly if I was you! So all in all patient line sucks. And for the prices it charges its an absolutely shocking service. Talk about taking advantage of sick people who are bored in a hospital.
