We missed our flight and had to stay at the Holiday Inn in Slough. The food at the hotel was terrible, and we discovered that there’s nothing pleasant about Slough or its food options. Tripadvisor gives this place 4 or 4.5 stars. I don’t know if people out here have very low standards of Chinese food or what, but my Cantonese chicken and special fried rice were not special at all. Their fish was dry and chips were soggy. I gave it an extra star for being marginally better than the hotel food. Looking back, I would have rather purchased a cup of noodles from the market down the road, heat up some water in my room, add to cup, and bon appetit!
