I really like what they have done with this pub. I think it is the same owner as the Ferry in Cookham and the Saracens Head in Beaconsfield. I woldnt however call it a pub, more a restaurant. The food as with the other two venues is very good — consistent although the menu doesnt seem to change and they dont do many .or any? specials. Very good service and lots of nooks and crannies in the restaurant

from other reviews, I’d say they got a new chef and menu. we used to go there every now and then, and the food was average at best. still, the pub is lovely and old, and the garden is nice. the beer was decent, but the burgers, fries and other microwave fodder was laughable — old school English cuisine at its worst.

Decent pub food is far better than your average pub meal it is definitely more about food than beer in here and it tastes great.

This pub is around the corner from my house. I’m not a drinker, but my mates go here often, and they have a laugh. It has been there for quite a few years.

The red lion in slough has been there for over 400 years, and is either the oldest pub in slough — or a close second. It has just had a bit of a clean up which has included a new menu which is a lot more extensive and varied then it used to be. It includes lovely pastas (mine was good) and steaks. It also does pizzas which is unusual for a pub. The prices are reasonable — about £8 is what you expect to pay for a pizza.
The staff there are very friendly and helpful.
The décor is now very bright and breezy and in the winter they light up the fire places to give it extra warmth :)
