Costcutters is a small local supermarket in the Brunel precinct. I want in there on wednesday and many of the shelves were empty with boxes on the floor waiting to go on to the shelves. I was told that if I wanted anything from the box, I had to help myself. Luckily, there was nothing on the floor I wanted, or I would have been quite cross to have to open a box and help myself. I figure that a small proprotion of the cost of an item in a store is there to pay the staff’s wages, if i have to do their job for them as well as pay for the item, I want a discount. I went in again today(Friday) and still some of the shelves weren’t full. I know its been snowing, and there’s been a lot of sickness around, but really is this soviet russia ? However, in the many years I have been visiting this store, I never had a problem there. You can get your lottery tickets, you can visit the cashpoint(costs £1.75 to draw cash) and look at the local notice board to see whats going on in town and things for sale. There was a rather nice looking MG for £2700 the other day, and guitar lesson offered.
