I’ve been here 3 times, never had a bad meal myself. Went with a party of 11 on a Sunday with some of us having carvery. Due to not knowing how long your food is going to be it’s abit awkward not knowing when is best to get carvery and the rest of the table getting there other food. Due to the long queue for the carvery we just said bugger to it and started queuing and luckily the food got to the table at the same time the other who were having carvery arrived with theirs. One pain is the queue for the carvery where we were sat, the queue was so long it was sort of on top of us whilst eating(Sunday lunch time so I can expect alot of people). Food itself was great, I previously had the farm house burger which was great for myself who has a massive appetite! This time having the Chicken and Rib combo, juggling feeding my daughter her dinner my ribs were stone cold by the time I got to them but my fault due to taking ages feeding my daughter. The children’s play area is great my daughter loved it running around and loved the Peppa Pig ride they have there. THEPUDDINGS! They are just something else, great size and great tasting if you can fit them in after the meal, if not you are able take them home which 2 days after I went I still have it in my fridge to be eaten! Overall great experience everytime I have been, play area for my daughter is great, the food and puddings are brilliant and will defiantly be going again.

I’ll be honest with you I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to this place but I must give credit where credit is due it does what it does very well. It’s huge and it has loads of tables, it’s clearly a chain pub but it was nice to see«winter stream ale» being served which is brewed by a local brewery just down the road in hambrook, I’m not an ale drinker but I am told it is very nice. I have only ever been here during the day with one or more children, I would never go here without children or at night, it’s just not my type if place. When you arrive you are asked to wait to be seated, a waiter arrives pretty quickly and I have never not got a table even though it always seems very busy, they always give us a table by the kids area which is great. The children’s play area is really good for small children, lots of soft play type things, a couple of rides and a few screens with video games on them which are great for older children, as a mum it’s great to go somewhere that the kids can play while you are waiting for your food to arrive. The menu is basically pub grub, sandwiches, jacket pots, steak, gammon, scampie, fish and chips, you get the gist, if it was still fashionable they’d be serving it in baskets. They also have a carvery which has several different meats and a good choice of veg, a small carvery plate is only £4.65 mon-fri which is good value, I’m not a fan of a carvery so I have never had it but I’m told it is very nice. Today I had ham, egg and chips and it was very nice, home carved ham, perfectly cooked eggs and although the chips are frozen chips they were nice enough, not bad at all for just over £5. They have a really good kids menu as well although it’s not particularly healthy. All in all as a place to go for a cheap and cheerful decent lunch where the kids can play it’s very good but as I said I won’t be going there I a date night !

Well… I’m literally torn in half with this place! I was jumping for joy at not having to go to The Mill House in Emerson’s Green for tea for the thousandth time with the kids… A new kid-friendly pub, walking distance(just) from my house… Winning all round!!! But… It is chaos in there! Particularly at the weekends, as you might expect. If you can park your car in the car park you’ve won half the battle! First time I visited was a Saturday evening(the day after Halloween so it was quieter in there) and we managed to get a table right by the kids play area, which was ideal. The meals were reasonably priced and they were ok, just what I expected. I had pasta and the portion was about right… But the other meals are much bigger. Menu had standard choices, nothing original. We were asked politely to vacate after a certain amount of time so someone else could have the table… Which I get, but didn’t like too much! The kids absolutely loved it, it’s great for them. Second time was a Sunday afternoon and I’ve never seen such madness in my life(and that’s saying something!) we put our name on a list for a table, as it was so busy, and waited at the bar — luckily the little man was asleep in the buggy most of that time or else that wait at the bar would’ve been a nightmare! When about 45 mins had passed I checked with the staff again and apparently we had been called several times?(Although all six of us adults didn’t hear anything?!) we were finally seated and the meals were the same as the first visit, just as expected, kids loved it there, puddings were immense! It took a while for the food to arrive and it was constant queuing for carvery, drinks, puddings as it was just so busy. In fairness the staff do a good job considering the mayhem of people in there! I guess my advice would be — if you have kids, go for it. The fact that they are entertained is priceless to any parent! It’ll make up for the averageness of the menu and the annoyance of all the queuing. And if you don’t have kids — seriously don’t bother! Make the most of being able to go somewhere, anywhere else! :)

This place is set in a great location and looks really good as you drive past. It’s situated in a location that for years you wold have never thought a pup of it’s size would have been built there. A great credit to the idea. A great pub for the children as they have a small play area with computers, machines etc. tables over watch the area which is key to be able to relax whilst eating. As you can have eyes on your children at all times. I only had a small carvery as I only wanted to test the food out, was not the best but was worth the money. They have all you can expect and maybe more. The cakes on the other hand are exceptionally nice and look fantastic. Could not keep my eyes off. The malteaser one was delicious, you can even take them away great to just pop in and grab, or sit down with a coffee. It gets extremely busy but shows how nice it can be. Really friendly staff, plenty of parking, large menu with plenty of choices and stuff to keep the children entertained, overall a winner in my eyes. Worth a visit to find out for yourself.

I’m not a big fan of a carvery. I much prefer going for a proper roast dinner that is plated for you, looks delicious and hasn’t been sat under a hot-light for a couple of hours. So my expectations were not very high when I knew I was going to Winter Stream Pub, but I wasn’t expecting it to be as bad as it was. The restaurant itself feels like a chain restaurant, because it is. It has a large bar with all the standards draughts, top shelf and wines etc. The tables are set out perfectly and they have separate seating areas for different rgoups of people. For some reason you have to order drinks and food separately at the same bar, which doesn’t seem to make much sense or work very well. Considering it’s its signature dish, It is the carvery that really lets Winter Stream down. They do 3 different sizes, small, standard and mega. You get to choose one meat for the small, 2 for standard and 3 for the mega. I had the standard which is a normal sized dinner plate. I chose beef and turkey over Gammon; the beef was over cooked and the turkey, what there was of it, was pretty dry and non-eventful. I’m don’t like to pile on loads of veg, I like to be able to see what I’m eating, so I had a decent sized combo of my favourites. There is a HUGE amount of veg to choose from. There is 4 different types of potato(2 different types of mash) and pretty much any other veg you would expect on a roast dinner. But it was all very over cooked, nothing had much flavour and even the gravy(which they had 3 types of) tasted like it has been sat there for half a day. If you live near Bradley Stokes/Winterbourne and have kids, then this will be a decent pub/restaurant for you. They have a large play area at the back that caters for kids of all ages. They have play stations, toy grab machines and a big soft play area. The kids go mental in there! They also have the biggest EVER desserts. I mean HUGE! The cheesecakes are about a foot and a half high and the ice creams come out in buckets. They look really impressive and bring an ear to ear smile to any child — or sweet-toothed adult! All in all not a great experience for me, but I can see that a lot of people will like it.

Brilliant selection on the carvery, everything you could want from a roast dinner plus extras like baked vegetables which I’ve never tried before and we’re lovely. Gets very busy on a Sunday but the place is so big that there was no wait at all they get you seated quickly. One down side was when you order your food, you can’t get drinks at that time you have to then que up at bar for your drinks. You can pay for them with your food but have to go collect them from bar which was frustrating on a busy Sunday when I went. The cakes looked amazing I didn’t try them but Will go back to test them out!

I have been wanting to try this place ever since it opened and it’s certainly lived up to my expectations. The pub itself is huge with a big central bar and loads of restaurant and bar space which is great as this place gets super busy. The main selling point for me is the children’s area at the back of the pub which is perfect for families. They have a little play house and all different toys and also 6 different computers and a games console for older children. There are several dining tables around this area so parents and sit and relax whilst their children play. I didn’t fancy a meal so instead I opted for some cake… the cakes they serve are unlike any cakes I have seen before, they are enormous! I went for a piece of Malteaser cake which was delicious. I love the fact that they offer a ‘cakeaway’ option so you can just go in and buy some cake to take home, it’s genius. They also have an ice cream station with lots of yummy flavours. The food menu looks like proper pub grub and all reasonably priced. I saw a few meals being brought out and the portion sizes were huge, definitely very good value for money. Not only do they have a full menu but they also have a carvery on every day, 3 different meats with all the trimmings which looked good to me. Overall this is a great new pub, they have pretty much thought of everything and they have really catered for all different types of clientele. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Looking forward to this place opening since driving by everyday to work. Been dying to try out the food here. It just what was needed in this area somewhere with good proper pub food… Which i was impressed by the huge choice on the menu. Its mainly a carvery pub but has plenty more on the menu along with specials board. Also a yummy looking cake deli which you can get takeaway desserts and the slices are huge! My partner had the carvery and i had a burger and when it came out it was such a big portion it looked like i hadnt touched the sides when the plate was clearled. The carvery stand has lots of selection of veg, potatoes etc along with big slices of meat. The pub itself it big and has a coutry feel with two areas for dining. Family or adults. There is a kids play area too. There is something for everyone in there. Id say it was a cross between Harvester and Toby Carvery and is good value for money. Overall id go back again, will need a few visits to get through that menu! But the downside is that the portions are so big i wouldnt like to imagen the amount of food that just get thrown away. Also the car park was way to small but size of pub. I think this pub will do really well.
