This place Used to be really good in the 90’s and a few years after but the taste of their food has really gone down hill. Still very reasonably priced but zero service &(sorry) zero taste.

This is my favorite take-away in London. While Shahanshah has some indoor seating, its very basic canteen style and is build for praticality not style and ambience. To my knowledge, there are actually three Shahanshah’s in Southall/Ealing, but this one specialises in vegetarian cuisine and sweets. It’s also the closest to the Mrs’s. You can’t get home delivery, you have to rock up in person. It also closes at 8pm. It’s also always busy, queues and queues of locals all lining up just before closing wanting their food. But, it is truly the most amazing food. Simple, fresh, moreish food all at really reasonable/cheap prices. 40p a Samosa. I’ve never been disappointing, and we’ve had a fair few meals from here. Nothing’s ever come out greasy or cold or stodgy or limp. Well, with the invention of JustEat and all those convinience sites to make the process of getting your regular Indian to your door without any delay or hassle, why leave the house and make the journey? Because, to paraphrase a well known female product ad… It’s worth it.

Sometimes the treats of the world in a shop on a Parade. Not flash, always busy, and been going for more than 20 years. Many times me and friends have dined here with a just a QUID!!! Sorry this keyboard does not have the POUNDSIGN. For old times three of us ate here and had samosas and Aloo Chaat with two of us having Desi Chai(Chai Tea Latte) and me a can of Rubicon soft drink and all under a tenner! The Rubicon is still selling strong in this fine establishment. The samosas are freshley prepared in the back. It is rude when old school friends get together and not over order! We had to have the Obligatory extra chutney. You cannot go wrong. Décor is basic. The amazing aromas of indian sweets(Muthai) and the other currys do not disappoint. All the food here is vegetarian. Samosas and Muthai have been going strong here for over 20 years. They make all the Indian Punjabi comfort food and makes you feel good after eating. However not great for the waistline. You know this place is great when all the locals are still coming here and ordering by the Bucket load. Highly recommended experience and good vegetarian Punjabi food.

There are a couple of shahanshah restaurants in southall. This partiular one is small, but has some seating. The down side is they close at 8pm, but the food is good traditional punjabi food, so worth going for lunch or an early dinner. They are best known for their delicious samosas with a crispy pastry, so a must if you love this particular indian snack. Mind you, this is not a sit down restaurant like some of the places in southall. More of a munch after you’ve finished shopping or a real good take away. This place also does good Indian sweets.
