Nice place to stroll round and hunt any label clothes bargains. Unlike other matalans this store is easy to locate items you are looking for, as th layout is very good. Staff are happy to help. Plenty of room to use a parm or pushchair in the aisles.

This shop sells clothes and homewares at very good prices. This particular store is spread over 2 levels. My main complaint with this branch of Matalan is that I seem to find myself going round in circles. There doesn’t seem to be much thought put into the layout and I’m often unable to find what I’m looking for, especially in the clothes section. That aside, the shop does sell some real bargains and it’s often worth the hunt to find things. The homewares section has everything from cushions, to kitchen products via vases, storage solutions, clocks and mirrors. It’s all laid out in quite a random way but again, it’s not a problem if you have the time to browse. The staff in this shop are nice enough but not outstanding. I believe it’s still necessary to have a Matalan card to shop here. It’s basically just a way to get an extra £1 out of you. If you don’t have one you can fill out a form at the checkout before your transaction goes through.

Matalan is in the Marland Centre, the city’s oldest shopping mall. Its a fairly big store and can be seen as a shop similar to Primarks. It sells clothes cheaply and affordably and has a really good selection and range. They’re better quality than you might assume by looking at the price tag. For the price of a top in a more upmarket store you can kit yourself out for the whole night in Matalan. Who can complain about that? The only downside is that you need to have their loyalty card to shop(I tried to shop without one recently and they wouldnt have any of it), which means they can keep an eye on what you buy and target any advertising quite efficently!

This store is about a 5minute walk from where i life. I personally hate clothes shopping i used to bother walking into west quay etc to shop but now, armed with my nus extra card, shop at matalan as its already nice n cheap. I find they have pretty much all the clothes anyone would wish for and is a step up from the über cheap primark. It feels a bit dated the way the store is layed out, but then again, this probably keeps costs down as opposed to having booming music and flashy displays etc. with endless streams of sales assistants asking ‘are you alright mate’. I prefer to just get in, quickly get something, and get out, matalan facilitates this. Ideal if your male, hate clothes shopping.
