I do not think that this is a very good shop. They sell most things that you would expect a newsagents to sell but most things are very over priced and there are cheaper shops near by. The shop seems small and cramped. When the school near by finishes there are lots of people waiting outside till they can go in as only a few children are allowed in at once.
There is a cash machine just outside which is convenient.
I find some members of staff to be quite rude.
I don’t bother going in now as there are far better shops on the road.

Do you think McColls are competing with Sainsburys that has just opened up the road? Yes? Um, well, judging by the prices i think theyll be shut down anytime soon. Everything is more expensive here, isles are cramped and staff are quite miserable and unfreindly although at least you can get a lottery ticket here, which i guess is a positive over sainsburys.
Shame theres usually a drunk tramp outside pesting you for 20p or vomit/​broken glass/​rotting kebab*/ *=delete where applicable on your time of visit to McColls.

I do actually have to agree with Stevem’s review of McColls, it’s only really saving grace is the fact its the first and only cashpoint on Bedford Place you can use without waiting in a huge queue.
You do usually get harassed by a drunk/​homeless person when trying to use it.
Its also one of those stores you can never really find what you want when you want it, or its so hideously expensive its not worth it!
