Straight out of the airport it is perfect for going elsewhere. Costs less than £5 return to go from airport to Southampton central and regular trains to London, Bristol and Plymouth by the looks of things.
Pretty much not a station but two platforms but great for commuting and about 10mins from airport to central so would advise train over taxi…

Southampton Airport Parkway railway station is a railway station located in Eastleigh in the county of Hampshire in England.
The station comprises two platforms. One is on the western side, with the line running in the northern direction via Winchester, Basingstoke, Woking, and Clapham Junction, towards the terminal of London Waterloo. The other is on the eastern side, with the line running in the southern direction, towards Southampton, Bournemouth, and Weymouth.
The station is very well connected with the rest of the United Kingdom’s transport network: it is situated directly next to Southampton Airport and the M3 and M27 motorways, and virtually all passenger services stop here.
