Talking Heads

I love this venue. From burlesque reviews to gigs or just a quick drink in the bar there is always a great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and up for a laugh whilst getting on with their job. Great sound at gigs. Large outside area for the smokers with benches and tables and even late night burger service.

Can’t imagine Southampton without this venue. The programme is varied and interesting (not just head bangers, we’re not sure what the chap below is on about!!) from the regular Candle Club every Monday, showcasing local talent, to bigger bands, dance nights and yes, some head banging :)

If you’re a head banger this place is for you. If you’re a normal member of society that likes to keep your head firmly attached to your neck, it’s not for you. Simples

Best live music bar in town — there is just about a different band every night — little bit hard to get to but well worth the trip.

Great place to go and see bands. It has a good atmosphere. Prices aren’t bad. There is something happening here every day of the week. The types of music you will hear are: rock, country, folk, indie, punk, electronic, soul, reggae and funk It is a small venue and has a capacity of 260.

I just love this place: the architecture is extremely quirky and made of add-​ons, the acoustics are great and the live music on offer is very diverese and top notch. Prices are reasonable and if you go there on Monday nights, it is open mic night and you only have to pay for your own drinks. If you tell a very bad joke, you might get free drinks too.
Deffo recommend this one.

I love this place.
From the outside, you would think that it must be due for demolition. Do not be fooled, this pub has a heart and soul and it is full of life.
A fantastic Live music venue with a stage area that would not be out of place in some of the more well known London venues. Music and entertainment is on 7 nights a week so you can always find something to get you excited.
On monday nights it’s the Candle Club a sort of open mic, but with a lot more style, anyone can get up and perform, and it’s free.
This is a good sized venue, a little in need of some TLC in parts, but this only adds to the great atmosphere.
The staff and the clientel are great, I have always felt welcome, even though I don’t get the chance to visit as much as I would like to. The Talking Heads, a little livin’ legend.
