Harvester

Guess this place has changed over the years, but they’ve definitely cleaned up their act. We had excellent service, and the food was decent, but not something I was thoroughly impressed with.
Overall, comfortable place to go with, with the family.
Just a short walk to the beach, as well.

Food was okay but nothing to write home about, would recommend taking your own glasses as the ones supplied were washed in dog s**t

Went there on a hot sunny Sunday and considering how busy it was ther service was very good. We waited about 40mins for a table but had a drink while waiting and once we were seated and ordered the food came out quickly, the staff were helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the loos wernt very clean but that might have been because it was busy but I would go back.

Quite near the beach, (easily within walking distance), this place has become more of an eatery-​pub over the years due to a buy out.
The rear of the establishment features a pub-​garden type area and children’s play area, though some of the equipment looks as though it could do with a blasting with a hose, (most likely from the ammount of people using it, and also it’s proximity to the sea).
The food is average, but nothing to write home about, and I’d only come back if I was passing the place and I was hungry at the time.
There are a few places around worse than this, but there are also quite a few that are better, and it seems as though the new owners needs to invest some money into doing up the place.

Went there one lunchtime. Tables were full of dirty dishes and glasses. Stood at bar for about 5 minutes before being served. Understaffed and the staff there could give a flying Fish for your happiness. Havnt been there since.

Ideal place for lunch with family or friends. Located off seafront. If you have had a walk along the front, good excuse for a break. Nicely laid out, love the salad bar. Good choice of dishes. Friendly staff. Value for money if you dine early.

At the end of the beach huts towards Shoebury stands The Shore House. It was recently taken over by The Harvester and that was all for the good. Previously the pub was looking a bit worn and the service was appalling.
The pub was completely gutted and now looks fresh and clean, somewhere you would want to have a meal. The food is good and they have an early-​bird special with ¹⁄₃ off of the majority of the menu if your order is taken before 6:30pm Monday to Friday or 5:00pm on Saturday. Ideal if you want to go out for an early meal with small children.
There is a huge beer garden and children’s play area so if we ever get a summer it will be a great place to get some lunch if you’re spending the day at the beach.

Just been done up. Good food and drink. Easy to park. Very near beach but no view. Friendly staff behind bar. Harvester menu means that you know what you’re getting but little choice.
