Very good Irish pub it situated down a side street. The staff are very friendly it looks a bit rough from outside but when you walk in your made to feel very welcome. There two levels but we stayed down stairs. It not a bad pint and reasonable prices I liked it in there and defo returning back there when we visit Southport again.

Superb pub in the heart of Southport. Situated down a side street this place looks quite rough from the outside but inside its a great friendly Irish themed bar. We had such a great time here the lady behind the bar was great and the other customers were friendly. The place has two levels although we stayed at the bottom. Beer was reasonably priced and not a bad pint. We will definitely be returning and maybe this will become one of our regular haunts in Southport ;-)

Visited on October 16th whilst in the area for a conference. Walking into this bar you could be walking into a backstreet pub in Ireland. The bar is tucked up a side street and is joined by another 2 pubs 1 next door and 1 opposite. Inside its bare wooden floor and furnished with a few tables. There is an upstairs which has more seating and a pool table. On the Thursday night I visited there was an open mic night which featured some really talented local singers. The Landlord was friendly and easy to chat with. He informed me that on Friday night there was another live act on, an Irish singer doing traditional stuff. I went along on Friday and it was great. Great music and great atmosphere. They don’t serve food but there are plenty of places nearby you can grab a bite. Prices were good — £2.80 pint of Carling. Really enjoyed this place.

This pub is as good as it gets if you are looking for a nice quite drink. Never too crowded and a great place to sit and enjoy a pint or two with a few mates.

I used to come when i lived in Southport, we would come here before going to the clubs, good ol’ irish pub! with live music and a great atmosphere! Also most importantly cheap drinks with a good town centre location! Recommended!

O’ Leary’s; sounds Irish, doesn’t it? Well, that’s probably because it is an Irish-themed pub, funnily enough. I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Irish pubs generally, but O’Leary’s off Nevill Street is probably the best one in Southport(it may also be the only one these days, but that’s beside the point). The pub itself looks quite small from the outside but as you enter it does open up a bit, offering drinkers more than ample space to drink a Guinness or two in relative comfort. The drinks selection isn’t too exciting but it is all reasonably priced for the area, even the Guinness. The atmosphere in here as you might expect can get quite lively at times, particularly on Paddy’s Day, and there’s even live Irish music on sometimes to help get you in the mood if you need any more encouragement.
