T K Maxx

A large store, stocking the usual range of children and adult clothing and accessories as well as household items. The shoe range I find to be particularly good in this shop and they always have a good range to choose from in all different sizes.
I like how the clothes are arranged into different sections and according to size, it makes browsing much easier!
My only complaint is the lack of fitting rooms. They aren’t usually too busy but they could definitely do with some more Women’s ones.

While I admit I have occasionally found some good quality items here for very reasonable prices (e.g. a Gortex rainjacket), I normally can’t face coming in here because of the way the store is laid out. The section with kitchen and household goods is reasonably easy to navigate and it’s possible to pick up gems like Le Creuset, at half the price they’d normally be. The clothes rails on the other hand, are a nightmare and require huge patience (which I don’t have) to trawl through the numerous rubbish items to find a good quality piece. If you get there early enough in the season, some good skiing gear can be bagged at good prices. I do tend to need to take a deep breath and psyche myself up to enter this store but sometimes it’s worth it.

Truly awful store that always looks like it’s just recovered from a stampede.
Everything is a mess and I find the whole TK Maxx shopping experience as unorganized, dirty and confusing.
Shopping at peak times requires an arsenal (or a pram) to get around in one piece.

T K Maxx is a large discount shop on the 2^nd floor of The Maltings shopping centre with parking in the attached multi storey car park. It sells clothes for adults and children, bags shoes and toys as well as kitchen items (not white goods) and linens. All the products were originally on sale in other shops for a higher price and are discounted in T K Maxx. Some of the discounts are very good, others won’t sell no matter the price! It’s always good for a root around and for buying gifts for children as the toys are quite good. The service is nearly non-​existent but that doesn’t tend to be an issue.
