This is a 3.5 star really but I’ve decided to be slightly harsher just because there are so many good places in St. Andrews to eat that probably deserve a 4 more. The ordering process is pretty simple and is as follows: 0 Size(we got a large between two of us for lunch and that was perfect) 1 Rice or Noodles(surely the hint is in the name of the business?) 2 Protein(king prawn is the same price as the chicken, surely have to go for the KP?) 3 Sauce(we had the spicy coconut which was a good balance of cream and spice) This only takes a minute or two to prepare and comes in one of those Chinese takeaway boxes you only really see on USTV programmes. What’s stopping a higher star rating is that after the first few mouthfuls the protein and sauce has already been eaten, then you’re just left with plain noodles with a few peppers through them. Surely it can’t be that difficult to mix it up a bit before serving it, and being a big more generous with the sauce. Great idea though and I’d like to try it again if I come back to St Andrews.

I graduated from St Andrews two years ago, but I still find myself craving a veggie noodle box with spicy coconut sauce from Dr Noodles all the time! Dr Noodles is a great, convenient restaurant with reasonably priced, consistently good food. When I come back to visit this will be one of the first places I drop in to!

Came to this small place for a quick lunch. I ordered oyster sauce beef noodles for 4.50 pounds, which was quite reasonable. However, it was RIDICULOUSLYSALTY to the point that I suspected the chef pour the whole bottle of oyster sauce in my noodles. My mouth felt so dehydrated and weird in less than a minute. Disappointment.

Not going to go nuts about this place, but it was functional at £4 for a small box of noodles. Shame they use that cheap chicken… Would come back though.

This is a new franchise with a shop in Dundee and now StAndrews. Alan & I had a quick lunch here pre shopping and it was tasty for a quick lunch There are three steps to ordering First select noodle box or rice box Then select your ingredients from chicken /beef /tofu /prawn Step three is what sauce to have? There is everything from coconut /chilli /satay /plum /curry /black bean The service was quick and with a smile I am veggie so was pleased to see the tofu option but less pleased that they didn’t have any in stock. I had the coconut sauce which had more of a kick than I was expecting but tasty, my husband Alan had the chilli chicken noodles and said they were very spicy but excellent. There is a sitting in section but it was very dark and cramped so I have given 4 stars. I loved the boxes the noodles come in, it’s the cartons you see in he movies :0) I would absolutely go back, but for takeaway not to it in.

It is rare that I downgrade, but downgrade I must… I still do like this place, but I don’t think that it is as awesome as it could be or as good as it was this time last year. The ratio of sauce to noodles is often variable, some of the sauces can be too overpowering when too much is added. I also have to say that when ordering the veggie option(which is what I do) there are often hardly any veggies in the portion and the only veggies there ever are are onion(sometimes still quite pungent and undercooked) and green and red pepper… Since my last review they have also made the portions slightly smaller(which is fine, the small is probably a better size for me for lunch) but I guess I just feel that half way through all I have left is noodles, and I am just eating noodles and not a delicious veggie delight. As a rule I don’t like to make comparisons to other establishments in my reviews, but I am going to make an exception in this case. Dr Noodles could do with taking a leaf out of Red Box in Edinburgh’s book and offer a wider range of veggies and noodles — that would certainly make this one of my go-to stops for a quick bite once again.
