Oldest pub in town and the front bar is very traditional, mind your head on the beams. Only sells Cornish beer but the quality was good. Food looked very nice. Service and welcome was very good. When we visited there was a large pile of mature cheddar and pickled onions on the bar to help yourself.

A proper old pub looks lovely. Shame it was relatively dead. It smelt of cigars too — how does that happen anymore? HSD, Tribute or Dartmoor. After careful consideration I had the Dartmoor, but it was just ok… no more.

Having wandered around Mevagissey, Kernow for what seemed like hours we came across this quaint old pub. Coming through the door made us step back in time. In awe we stood there when a local voice in a friendly manner told us that there was another bar at the rear, The smugglers Bar. The whole pub was so inviting and this didn’t stop when I ordered our drinks. The Landlady and young lady behind the bar were so friendly and helpful. Even tried to help my partner when she asked where she could buy a cornish piskie LOL. Lovely pub with a great hosts and friendly locals.

A locals pub that offers a warm welcome to visitors is the best way I can describe the fountain. Very small, lounge-room like interior and a more than friendly landlord. Great meals upstairs too.
