HUGE pasties here. We got the traditional steak one and it ended up lasting us a whole day as we nibbled on it. The pastry on the pasty was lovely and flaky, however I would have liked a bit more flavor to the actual filling. We also got a sausage roll that was excellent! I actually preferred it over the pasty. Light flaky pastry and really tasty sausage. There was no queue and the price wasn’t too bad.

Excellent large pasties, whether eaten hot or cold. I had the ordinary(«traditional») type. You can see them being prepared.(Would Ginsters dare do that? [g]) I tried freezing some but they tasted very salty when defrosted. When I went, in December 2009, there was scone mix on sale in small bags. This branch is one of three — see – and is dog-friendly.

I had a pasty from the Pengenna Pasties shop in St Ives whilst sheltering in a shop doorway during a torrential downpour(that lasted several hours and totally wrecked the whole«St Ives Experience») and I have to say it was the BEST pasty I’ve ever eaten! Absolutely gorgeous… and huge… and there was no queue(but that was probably due to the rain). I had a tradtional Cornish Pasty which was meaty and vegetably and yummy with wonderful pastry and OH had a Lamb & Mint pasty which he said was beyond awesome. So delicious, my mouth is watering at the thought :)

If you visit Cornwall you have to try a real, authentic hot Cornish pasty. I visited St I’ves and I think this is the best place to get one! It is very popular and you will have to queue up but the smell alone will keep you in the line! I don;t think there are any quiet times to try and avoid queueing. The pasties are fab, a good size and good price for what you get. We bought extra to take home for our family and they really enjoyed them too. Wish I lived near or had the chance to visit more often, as I haven’t forgotten those pasties, and not found any to match them since.

Very nice pasties at a pretty good price. We didn’t queue as long as the other reviewers seemed to. We must have just timed it right! We too can recommend the pasties — buy more than you can eat straight away — they won’t go to waste.

I can’t believe I’m the first person to review this place, it makes the best pasties I’ve ever tasted! When we arrived in St Ives we walked from the top of the hill down to the sea and as we did so went past a very long queue of people snaking out of this pasty shop. It was only 10am! So we decided it must be worth a visit and went back at lunchtime. It was well worth the 20 minute wait in the queue, the pasties were out of this world. A real authentic cornish pasty, buttery pastry filled to bursting with vegetables and big chunks of steak, not the horrible mince that you get in some places. Unfortunately I was full after eating one, otherwise i’d have gone back for more!
