I’m a bit confused about the name of this place as there were lots of references to Isobar is dead around the did used to be called Isobar, so I guess this might be their slightly confusing way of telling us that the name has changed. It feels odd to rate this place quite so highly, as there was so much about the venue that I didn’t particularly like. They served only 2 kinds of lager(Carlsberg and Carlsberg Exportwhat a choice!). The music really wasn’t my scene either. But in the end I just had a great all round night and spent quite a while here. What made it particularly great was the art exhibition in the bar downstairs. I am not used to seeing this kind of thing in a pub/cluband am a bit of a heathen, with no culture to speak of, so wouldn’t generally like it anyway. I do have a bit of a dark side however and the exhibition was vampires and the undead(and batman!) and appealed to me. Although the music wasn’t that great the sound in the club upstairs really emphasized the beat, making everything easier to dance to(and as it is the only club in townI think. the age range of the dancers must have been 18 – 60 odd!). From a drinks perspective I discovered a bottled strawberry cider, which was quite refreshing too.
