Nice walk from runnymede on the Thames hotel. Delicious steak dinner in a quintessential English atmosphere.

Not a huge menu but good quality food. Nice terrace next to the river in the summer too.

Dinned here on a formal stag do, really reasonable priced menu with lots of specials. Excellent presentation, excellent quality, damn cheap quality wine, quirky atmosphere and the knickerbockerglory was just beyond amazing. So good we went back for lunch the next day.

Zum Swan Hotel gehört ein wunderschöner, historischer Pub, in dem man nicht nur englisches Bier, sondern auch(aus dem angeschlossenen Restaurant) hervorragende Speisen(oft mit reginalem Bezug) erhält.

We went to this hotel to eat at their restaurant as we wanted to eat with a view of the Thames. We were at an upscale hotel a few miles away and this was good choice fo lunch! 1. Parking — For being in Staines and in a crowded area, nice parking. They have parking in front of this hotel as well as around the streets. 2. Ambiance — OK, for us Americans, I know you all think that we think anything over 10 years old is antique, but the traditional and old world feeling of this place was very, very cool. 3. Food — What an awesome menu. Which I remembered everything. Besides the salads, hamburgers and the normal stuff, things like oxtail, boar, root vegetables, and many other types of great country fare were on the menu. I loved the choices, and settled on the root vegetable salad which was fantastic. And a pint of Guiness made it all worthwhile. 4. Service — Very good. Our waitress was a bit young, but the entire staff helped her and the brits are AWESOME anyway. 5. Go Back — I really like this place and would always come back next time I am here. Great view, great food, great ambiance. For business or pleasure, this is a nice place!

Beautiful location by the river and the promise of being a cosy beamed retreat as you duck through the door are only spoiled when you actually get inside and find it’s actually a cookie cutter brewery open plan, scrubbed wooden floor design which totally sucks the atmosphere out of it. However, nice choice of traditional dishes including pies and bangers n mash. Even better, one of the sausage choices was boar, hold on, hazy memory, could have been venison actually, well it was something more exciting than pork anyway and it was delicious. Served on creamy mash with a tasty gravy it was decent enough for a working lunch in a town not renowned for culinary delights but I wouldn’t seek it out for a night out.

I enjoy getting my head down and tucking into a plate of sausage, bacon, egg, tomato and black pudding. Eating a hearty full English, watching the Thames slurping past the window, and listening to Wogan. Is there anything better? The room we had was small but perfectly formed with a TV and DVD player, no fridge or minibar, but that wasnt a problem. The bathroom was obviously just recently renovated. We did have a connecting room and we could hear sounds from the other side of the door. I was more worried about the noises we were making however. The friendly staff were very attentive and helpful. It wasn’t too expensive to stay for 2 nights, but it was quite difficult to find, and I had to phone for directions, as Mrs Marmy6 was getting bored of driving around Staines.
