I was with my father driving up to the North from London. We came across this place almost by accident. But my was it amazing. It’s so much better than the other options at motorway service stations — you know who I’m talking about .
I had pancakes and coffee. The coffee was amazing. So many places burn their coffee so all you taste is burnt beans. I drink mine black so it was nice to actually taste the roasted beans for once — and it was unlimited too :))))))))))
This is definitely a good spot to grab some grub and refuel (both your stomach and car) before heading back onto the road again.

As most reviewers have said, this is a great little place to eat. Good American food in an authentic environment. It’s like a big Airstream trailer!
Staff friendly, and endless coffee.

As the name suggest this establishment is OK. The funny thing is that there was absolutely nothing wrong; the panackes, bacon and maple syrup was nice, the breakfast meal was nice, service was attentive and the surrounds clean and tidy.
Mocked up to look like an authentic American railway carriage diner it made for a different atmosphere and was was quite quaint in its own themed way. Perhaps we were expecting a little too much but came away thinking that was… nice.
The bill total was somewhat inflated but being a themed diner off the A1 it was hardly surprising.

I’ve been searching for a proper American diner for years and never expected to find one by the side of the A1.
We’ve visited a couple of times over the past few weeks to try as much of the extensive menu as possible.
The food on offer ranges from hearty American (yay! pancakes) and English breakfasts through to burgers, steaks, mixed grills, battered fish, wings, ribs, chilli, hot dogs and that’s before we get to the salads, sandwiches and desserts.
Phew I get tired just writing it all down!
OK diner also has a limited alcohol menu, free refills of coffee and tea and the best milkshakes I’ve had outside of London.
Perfect for recovering the day-​after, a quick snack or an extensive meal. The only downside is the whole area reeking of oil, it could be the petrol station next door but I suspect it’s the deep-​fat-​fryers.
If you love an American diner be sure to give OK diner a try.

I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was great. proper american style food, and portion sizes! If you’re on the road and fancy a burger visit this place instead of a fast food restaurant– it maybe be slightly more expensive but you get what you paid for! A lovely relaxing atmosphere with quirky american charm. Completely family friendly.

An excellent place to eat next to a major trunk road — who’d have thought it could exist? Quality american style food (Burgers, chips with cheesey sauce, shakes) all in a proper american diner style building complete with booths and memorabilia! Even the service was pretty good and the pricing especially so for what is more or less a motorway services — £25 for two courses and drinks for two. I’d actually consider driving the hell that is the A1 just to come to this place regularly!
