Today I had a lovely brunch at the Bluebell Tearoom, I have only recently noticed it and I was excited to see if the food matched its charming interior. ITDID! The scrambbled eggs were very creamy and went down lovely with a pot of tea. The bacon was the best bacon I have had in a very long time! The toast was Honey and oat bread, which was a really nice change! Great for a people watch also!

As part of the Stirling Brunch club we decided to go along to the Bluebell tearoom, a quaint little tearoom with charming, if not slightly cliché, décor. The room itself is nice enough and is well maintained, but the foam ceiling tiles and and the white walls, detract from the traditional feel which I think the owner is going for and instead make the space feel a bit like a converted office. As it is a tearoom, I had to have pot of tea, and was pleasantly surprised when it was in fact some of the nicest loose leaf tea I’ve had for a while. My food was really good, and having pancakes on the menu is a sure fire way to making me happy. I really enjoyed them but after the third one I was very full, perhaps a little too full, as I couldn’t even finish my bacon. The pancakes were fluffy yet heavy and the bacon perhaps a little too sweet. My pancakes were well cooked and had a great colour, but the two other diners in our group who had the same dish, were not as satisfied, both were served pancakes which were overcooked and as a result, crispy and hard. One of them also was served very burnt bacon, which had obviously not been turned. The staff are very friendly and were very apologetic for the burnt food, but the offer to rectify this came to late as the majority of the group were just finishing their brunch and the diner who sent his food back did not want us all to wait. I would be very happy to go back here however, but if in future the Bluebell Tearoom have a larger group, I hope they are able to put out food with a little more consistency.

Today marked the first birthday of the Bluebell Tearoom and since I’d wanted to visit for a long time, there was no better time than the present. Why, hello there, Bluebell Tearoom! Birthday banners, complimentary birthday tablet and an afternoon tea raffle for every customer. And of course, the perfect excuse for cake. We are in just the right place for it, after all. Crisp and white and fresh like a beautiful spring day, the tearoom is cute and cosey and the welcome warm. Whilst small in size, there are certainly a good amount of seats and despite arriving slap-bang in the middle of lunchtime, we were able to get a table for two. The first thing that caught my eye was the crockery. We had some dainty little matching cups, bowls, saucers. And there were some more pretty selections displayed on the walls. Tea is always served best in a magnificent teacup. The bluebell are testament to this. It certainly is a the perfect spot for tea and cake! I had Cock-a-Leekie soup which was delicious, wholesome, warming. — The perfect prelude to the main event. Oh boy, did we have trouble choosing a cake from the selection. Despite it being the Bluebell’s super special first birthday, you will always find such a plentiful selection of cake, including plenty of gluten free selections and it really was a delight to hear about just how many cakes and gluten free options they prepare daily. Today, there was Lemon and Coconut, Cranberry and Orange, Carrot… Would we like to have a peek at the selection? Oh, mama! Now we’re talking. They look delightful. Every single one of them. After far too much time spent making a decision, I go for the Lemon and Coconut. My friend and I do a swap(always the best thing to do in these situations!) and I get to have a nibble of his slice of the Cranberry and Orange. Mmmm. They’re both so light and with just the right amount of sweetness. I genuinely can’t make up my mind which I liked best. Just perfect with the Japanese cherry green tea I had to accompany the afternoon sugar fix. If you asked me where to go for tea and cake in Stirling a few days ago, I might have told you to just hop on the train to Glasgow. That would have been silly of me. And I hope you didn’t listen. — Do go to the Bluebell Tearoom. And take me with you!

Very nice place. We went there for lunch because it’s their 1 year anniversary and was very impressed. It’s the perfect place in Stirling if you wan to experience tea in the best British style. The décor is superb despite the limited space. They have all matching tea service, matt white table covers, and interesting pictures. I had the soup and sandwich deal and it was lovely. They also have a gorgeous variety of cakes, from coffee, carrot, orange cakes to even gluten free cakes. The Japanese tea ordered by my friend had a very subtle taste to it and I am gone have next time I visit. The two ladies who served us were smart and had lovely chat. I can’t wait to go there again and I would definitely recommend the Bluebell Tearoom to anyone.

The Bluebell tearoom is always our first port of call when we visit Stirling and often our last as well. Wonderful home baked cakes, great dry cured bacon and scotch pancakes, daily roast sandwiches made with honey and oat bread and served with gravy. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant food! The only thing better than the food here is the service. Lisa treats her customers as though they were family and you won’t find a warmer welcome anywhere in Scotland. Fantastic! Highly recommended.
