TL;DR — Delicious fresh sandwiches, excellent drinks range, prompt and friendly service. Absolute gem with food and prices you shouldn’t miss! I had the pleasure of visiting Pokusevski’s yesterday with my girlfriend for lunch, and pleasure is definitely the right word. It’s not the largest space around, but there was enough seating to accommodate us and several other visitors who arrived afterwards. I believe there’s also an outside seating area at the back, but at the moment there’s some building work going on so it’s not accessible. This doesn’t affect the inside, though. My girlfriend decided on a toasted goat’s cheese, tomato and rocket sandwich on granary, with the aubergine side salad; I went for what is essentially my «usual» sandwich where available, which was pastrami, emmental and pickles on rye with the chimmichurri potato salad. To drink, I had the rooibos tea whilst my girlfriend went for the ginger tea. The rooibos was, well, redbush tea. Just what I was looking for, and it came in a pot which held 2 – 3 cups — depending on how high you filled them. The ginger tea was fiery, and I mean fiery, which caught us by surprise but after that it went down a treat. The food was absolutely great. My pastrami sandwich was a good size, with a good amount of filling and served on fresh bread. The potato side salad was also really good. The goats cheese sandwich also looked to be well filled, and the aubergine side looked astounding — I regretted not ordering it myself! Both of us agreed that the food was superb, and also very satisfying as a lunch order. Pokusevski’s has a range of cakes and deserts on offer as well, but sadly we didn’t get to try these on this occasion. The two sandwiches and drinks came in, for the two of us, at around £20 which is brilliant value when you consider the quality of the food and drink and also the level of service. The staff who served us were very friendly and well on the ball all round. I’ll definitely be back — it might even become my regular lunch spot!

This café is bigger than it looks thanks to a rather lovely outdoor seating area to the back. I have to admit that the only time I’ve been here I was pretty hungover and I with that I can definitely say that the food in this establishment aids hangover recovery. I had the full english where as my friend had eggs Benedict. The coffee was ok, but nothing special. I should visit again and sample their cakes on a less hungover occasion

I’m a very big fan of this place, just one of the many food and drink gems that the Heaton Moor area has to offer. Very friendly staff and a lovely environment, we headed here late morning on a Tuesday when they were doing their breakfast and lunch menus. Everything is very healthy(or at least on the healthy side) and we went for the toasted ciabatta sandwiches with a side of their salads. Their halloumi and pastrami ones were to die for — oozing, crispy, crunchy — super yum! The coffee is good even though I thought their flat white was far too big and needed shrinking to really appreciate the coffee taste(flat white’s should be a really small offering coffee shop owners of the world :-)) — and they do loads of bread to go from the Barbican deli in Chorlton. Overall, 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees plus a couple of bagels to go cost around £20 which was great value.

A really great little café/deli situated on the station end of Heaton Moor and somewhere I’d walked past several times before eventually stepping through the door. I stopped in for lunch with a few friends and was really impressed by the Mediterranean heavy menu which included several interesting salads, paninis, sandwiches, daily changing quiches and several types of platters. I went for the halloumi salad with olives and roasted peppers which was delicious and very generous with the amount of cheese. In fact everyone’s lunches looked very impressive, particularly my friend’s platter which I was massively jealous of when it arrived, being full of several of my favourite things including prosciutto, olives, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and what looked to be an entire ciabatta loaf — I definitely know what I’m ordering next time! Unbeknown to me prior to my visit is that in addition to the main café area there is a good sized courtyard at the rear which is perfect for a warm summer’s day as it’s a real sun trap. We sat out here and it almost felt like we could have been on holiday — almost! As well as the café they also do a large takeaway menu and have a deli counter of meats, cheeses, olives etc as well as freshly baked bread(delicious bagels) and posh cupboard items.

I go well out of my way to travel to this Deli, and with very good reason, the owner has made sure that this place stands out as one with Superior and quality produce that is sourced from specialist suppliers. The shop doubles up as a comfortable café where you can relax with a real coffee and maybe something to eat during the day, or in the evening I would recommend taking a friend to sample some of the wines that are also sourced from independent small suppliers. you will always find something good, the owner has definitely been doing his homework when it comes to his wine selection! You can get so many delicious world foods in this deli, they sell an array of items that range from cakes, cheeses, breads, soups, all kinds of meats, sundries, chilled snacks, and about a million different sauces, chutneys and jams! not to mention the different variety of Grilled Artichokes, Stuffed Vine Leaves, Olives and suchlike!
