Rating des Ortes: 3 Stockton-on-Tees, United Kingdom
The Royal Oak is situated at the top end of the High Street near the church and all the old man pubs as I call them! We often start a night out at the Royal Oak as it is a good pub and a good place to catch up with friends, as the music is not too loud and there are plenty of places to sit. The toilets are upstairs so not ideal for disabled visitors! The drinks here do seem a little more expensive than most of the other pubs in the High Street. There is karaōke on a couple of times a week which does get very busy, and is always a good laugh. I’ve never eaten in the Royal Oak but I have heard other people say they’ve not been too impressed with the food, and I have also heard that it is becoming something of a gay bar, but in fairness Stockton no longer has any gay bars so why not? I would recommend the Royal Oak as a good place to meet friends before heading further into town for a night out.
