Plough Inn

I hadn’t been to The Plough for a few years. Back then, you would of had to of booked 3 – 4 weeks in advance to get in at this place on a Saturday evening at 7:30pm.
However, when I walked on this time the place was empty. 7:30pm on a Saturday and we were one of three bakes occupied. The interior looked, in some way, as though it’s lost it’s old charm.
The staff were very polite and couldn’t be more helpful which was really nice. The menu looked as though it’s be shortened since I was last there, still I found more than enough choice!
The food was nice but… a little disappointing. While portion size was perfect, it lacked any real taste. The steak was cooked okay but tasted bland. In fact the best tasting thing on the plate were the onion rings!
I wouldn’t write this place off as it’s always been fantastic on previous visits. So this time I’m giving it ³⁄₅ but I will write again next time I go. I’d still recommend a visit especially if you are a steak fan!

This is a great local pub (really a pub operating as a restaurant). This is a family run establishment that delivers on all fronts — atmosphere, good food, great drinks, and solid service. Their steaks are the strong suit here (but don’t pass up on the deserts!). Everything is fresh and very tasty.

Not really a pub more of a restaurant but you will get a great welcome here and the steaks they specialise in are second to none. It’s usually busy so booking is a good idea. I’ve eaten here quite a few times now and never been dissapointed.

great if you want a cheap night out. they offer food, drink and karaōke. not brilliant in my opinion.

food is cheap and cheerful, but being a chain pub, does have a bit of a plastic pub feel to it in my opinion.
Has a karaōke night, and due to late license tends to become somewhat of a pilgrimage while enjoying a night out on the weekend.
Service is quick, but as someone else has mention, does get busy, so it may sometimes be worth ringing in advance to see if tables are available.
The childrens play area, a wacky warehouse type place, makes it a very family friendly pub with a large sectioned off beer garden near to the play area, which is always supervised by childcare staff.
There is a large carpark, which is good because it is a bit of a trek from the town centre

really nice food and very popular for the lunchtime, service is good and fairly quick even when busy, only small so sometimes tables arent available on turn up, worth a visit if you like a good steak. the staff are very welcoming and polite. always got a good reputation of the food they serve, never had any problems, quick service. the place is also kept tidy at all times and you feel welcom when turning up

Popular pub for lunchtime meals, the food is very good and plenty of it. Great to pop to for your lunch hour. They do great steaks, i can never eat all my meal so filling. Bookoing is required sometimes due to being a smallish place with good food.
