Thornbury Hall Rasoi

Lovely setting, I’ve been a time or two and it’s been good, unfortunately the last time wasn’t so good, the table cloth was dirty as was side plate and fork. This was a special birthday celebration which was spoilt by an unfriendly vibe from the daughter of the owners, luckily some members of the staff were a little more welcoming and helpful otherwise we would have left early. Would we go again? Not sure to be honest. Steve & Chris

Lovely setting and location. Was quite odd to order food whilst seated in the bar area, upon being shown to our table we soon realised why they do it this way the lighting is very ambient! Not a criticism though. The food itself was lovely, a good choice of dishes. Rose and pistachio Ice cream dessert was the perfect end to the meal.

Seems to be a general theme here. Good food, terrible service and attitude from the staff and the people that own it particularly the daughter and mother which kindly managed to completely ruin my mothers birthday occasion. Cant believe that they havent realised this yet or maybe it is the arroragnce that clouds it. DISSAPOINTING !

The location is indeed lovely (we live locally) but the service leaves an awful lot to be desired. The reception received from the lady proprietor clearly depends on what mood she is in! Food is ok but nothing special. We have been three times over the past 12 months, with the most recent occasion being particularly disappointing :(We will not be going back again in a hurry.

Thornbury Hall Rasoi is located in a small lane well off the beaten track — allow plenty of time to get there if you don’t know the area. However, the location is beautiful and the scenery well worth a look on a nice day — take a stroll outside if the weather permits. The food is lovely but can be a bit of a long wait when it is busy. We have been several times and have usually enjoyed it, but we did have one visit where the service was so appalling that the owners gave us a free bottle of wine in compensation. It is well worth a visit and is good for special occasions.

Thornbury Hall is an excellent family run Pakistani restaurant. It is a little out in the sticks but well worth a visit. The restaurant is housed in a fabulous old hall which is definitely worth a look in itself. The food is excellent and they have a wide choice of dishes. Thornbury Hall easily cater for large parties on a set menu basis we visited with a group of about 35 of us and they gave us our own private room which was great. Considering they were catering for such a large number of people all in one go the food and service were both excellent. The set menu cost about £16.95 for 3 courses which I think is brilliant especially given the quality of the food you receive. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to sample some well cooked, authentic Pakistani cuisine.

This is a beautiful unusual Indian restaurant. It is in the countryside in a huge converted Georgian Grade 11 listed house. It really is in a lovely setting and makes for the perfect Indian meal. The food is fab, if you like Indian food, and the restaurant has quite a romantic warm feel to it, so if want a special meal this is this place. The décor is exotic eastern style and I love it here.
Although in the countryside it is close to all Staffordshire areas and Alton Towers is just up the road.
