A*M*A*Z*I*N*G! Absolutely gorgeous and completely worth the drive. We spent a few hours here on an unseasonably warm day and it was amazing. Brimham Rocks is a completely natural rock formation that you can climb, picnic on, and photograph as much as you want. The car park is pay and display. There is no entrance fee into the rocks. There is often someone from the National Trust to answer questions, hand out maps, and lend their expertise. We wandered up the path, most of which was shaded. The walk was pretty easy, even with my so-so knee. There were lots of rocks that you could climb on. We saw groups of school children in climbing gear with helmets and repelling gear. So glad they were being taught how to climb. The best part of the trip to Brimham rocks is «Idol Rock». Idol Rock is amazing how it is balanced on that small point. It’s definitely worth the walk toward the back of the park. Even at my slow pace, we were able to get to Idol Rock within 30 minutes. The park is very compact and full of such cool rocks. We enjoyed taking photos and then stopping for an icy treat at the snack stand. The drinks weren’t very cold which was too bad, but that’s ok. This is such a worthwhile day out. Bring some sunscreen, water, a picnic, and a camera.

this place is a little gem for an active family day out! so its sensible all weather clothing, picnics etc. the admission is free, but there is a charge for using the car park.(as always take your rubbish home with you!) its a place with lots of old rocks! most of the rocks have rather strange shapes, erosion during and after the Devensian glaciation. they have names like idol rock, druids writing desk, dancing bear etc some you can easily climb on and off and others are a definate no no! for climbing! as they are hugh! the pathways are easy enough to follow, well sign posted, with little bits of info about the rock and the place etc. giving some of the formations, names can be fun, rather like cloud watching? the whole area is very scenic and has some really nice views of the surrounding areas. when your in a more open area that is. when climbing these rocks remember its the getting back down thats the hard part! but it all makes for a fun day out, when mum is stuck up a rock and dad’s to busy laughing to help! though the place is spelt brim ham rocks, some people call it bring ham rocks or brig ham rocks! so if your asking for directions, give them the choice of pronounciations! it never gets really busy, but never that quiet, leaving you the only people there.
