I recently took ownership of a greeting card and party shop in Northfeild Birmingham and I was interested to hear the review on Smart Ideas by Heather C. I so interested in what people want from a shop like this My shop is cheap and cheerful but hardly surprising when I have the American Card Factory not far away.

The buying of greeting cards can be a tricky business, finding the perfect card for a loved one’s special occasion, one that you think will appeal to their taste.
If I’m buying for friends I tend to stick to Paperchase for creative or more interesting looking cards but if I’m after something commercial or traditional for relatives I’ll often pop in here.
If you’re after cheap and cheerful a la Card Factory then you won’t find it here the prices are comparable with WH Smiths and Clintons.
As well as selling greetings cards there is a tiny section for gift wrap which is ok if you want a last minute bottle bag for instance as there isn’t really much choice.
A large portion of the shop is dedicated to gifts which tend to be ornaments, Yankee Candles, mugs etc. For Mother’s Day this year I got my mom a large rose print cup and saucer which was reasonably priced given its size.
