This is a favourite quiet Swansea spot of mine. It prefers homeliness to sophistication, and it’s not at the most exciting spot in town, but offering all sorts of snacks, light lunches and good cakes, Java is an always friendly, always efficient independent café. The coffee, in generous quantities, is as good as any you can get in the centre of town, and the hot chocolate is as luxuriously naughty as you could hope for. Head upstairs for a peaceful seat by the big windows to watch the hairdressers and shoppers of Picton Arcade being busy.
