I ordered from San Marco’s website a couple of weeks ago, I was very dubious at first but my girlfriend pretty much forced me to. And I was very very impressed; all the food arrived piping hot and within 30minutes! I had the world largest pizza! And the mrs had a very nice pasta dish. Delicious!!! I will be ordering from here again.

Great food, amazing service. Me and my partner ate in here last weekend. And loved the service we received. Not to mention the food, hot, fresh food and the pizza was the same size as the plate! And it was a big plate! Superb we will be going back, thank you

It actually pains me to write this review but well I had enough! This time last year I wouldn’t have had anything said bad against san Marco, Their food was wonderful, their service was wonderful, their delivery was a bit on the rough side but I thought that was something they would get a grip on eventually. Well that’s all changed now in my view. Food is terrible, I was going to make a point about the lasagne seeing as it’s a pretty typical Italian dish that most people have enjoyed but I can see someone has already said about it, which kind a hit the nail on the head slime in a tin foil box! On a whole I just feel their quality of food has just dropped off completely, I did notice they say on their website that they have a chef that has worked in top London restaurants; it makes me wonder as what? Potato peeler? Washer upper?. The only thing that hasn’t really changed is the service, still Lyn or sanjay are there happy to take your order(and your money). The prices haven’t changed which I guess is a good thing as that would just be even more of an insult. I have worked away in London a lot and you would not get this sort of quality food from a greasy back street café let alone a top London restaurant, which they don’t actually say, which ones, hmmmm itchy chin. When I have complained I have been offered money off my next visit or a free meal. I don’t want any of that I have money; all I want is the right food and it to be of reasonable quality. Rant over.

The only thing consistent about San Marco is the service they are very friendly and quite attentive. Too bad the food isn’t prepared in the same way. Sometimes it’s actually quite good, sometimes it’s tasteless. If they can make things more consistent, they’ll get a higher score.

My partner and I visited this restaurant after a recommendation from a friend. Italian food not being a favourite of mine I was plesantly surprised by the options available on the menu and in particular on the specials section which had dishes including kangaroo, ostrich and crocodile. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food tasty and enjoyable. Both myself and my partner would recommend this experience to any Italian food fans and will be returning very soon for another enjoyable quality evening.

My wife and I have only been to the San Marco twice, and are very pleased with the restaurant. We find it to be spacious, with a nice atmosphere, the staff are helpful. The food on both occasions we found to be delicious. We have already started spreading the word around friends and relatives about our new find. If you are looking for some where new to try, try the San Marco, you will not be disappointed.

I have to admit, my name is Mark and I am a San Marco-aholic! A fair few Italian restaurants have indeed taken vacancy on the premises, not that I could name one of the previous names, but I can say hand on heart San Marco is outstanding for their food, service and value for money. Tuesday night, aka date night, has now become San Marco night. If I don’t have at least 1 San Marco’s a week I’m not a happy chappy. Me and my friend used to take it in turns to cook for each other every Tuesday, however, after discovering San Marco’s it now wins every time, there’s no argument. Whilst I stick to my normal Pasta Arrabbiata(with less chilli) Cheesy Garlic Bread, and half and half of their stunning Tuscan and mini roast potatoes, my friend always tries difference dishes and I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad dish or bad experience. Their home made garlic dip is to die for, as is the garlic bread. I would highly recommend their breaded mushrooms starter(Fungi Fritti) and especially the deep fried mozzarella(Mozzarella Fritta). .. .. .. .OK I’m hungry now! We’ve eaten in and had takeaway on more occasions than I care admit, cause I’ve lost count. When you get to the point your ringing up and they already know your order that’s gotta say something. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming and friendly, whether your eating in or taking delivery. The restaurant is very clean and modern, a nice relaxing atmosphere with subtle music. The food is all freshly made to order and it shows. I was pleased to read a review in the Swindon Advertiser and what an amazing review it was. I have to admit when I read that customers had received a phone call shortly after taking delivery of a takeaway to ensure the food was OK I was slightly sceptical, however, after receiving numerous calls myself, as have many of my friends, it just goes to show how much they care. The idea of having an Italian takeaway is such a unique idea and undoubtedly people will think, as did I, how the hell are they gonna deliver things like pasta, lasagne, chicken dishes, but believe me they can and they do and it’s piping hot and tasty as ever. They even deliver desserts and wine, what more could I ask for. .. .their profiteroles are to die for. The food portions are quite substantial, so if you can resists from stuffing every last bit on the night, it warms up nicely the next day. I can’t say enough good things about San Marco, I could go on and on but it’s making me hungry so I’ll shut up. Try it for yourself, whether you have delivery, takeaway or eat in, you won’t be disappointed.

San Marco is the newest incarnation of a long line of short-lived«Italian» restaurants in 141 Farringdon Road. I doubt if this will survive longer than a few months either. Where should I start… well, when we were ordering our starters the waiter didn’t know that they had the minestrone soup on their list. It’s supposed to be an Italian restaurant, so he shoudn’t be that surprised. When the soup arrived it was quite obvious that it had been cooked using frozen vegetables. As far as the food in general is concerned I would say it was edible, but anyone with any flair in the kitchen would do much better. San Marco’s dishes tasted and looked like if someones teenage daughter, while slightly drunk, would have been put into a proffessional kitchen and ordered to have a go — edible, even funny but hardly anything you would pay £10−20 for a main course. I ordered a pizza for mains, and it was uncooked, the base very soft and sloppy. Things got worse as the evening went on. We were never offered a dessert menu and never did a waitress inquire if we would like a cup of tea or coffee. That was OK, as we were done with the place. Eventually we asked for the bill, paid and for no good reason at all left a fiver as a tip. Once we were about to leave a waitress arrived only to ask if we are ready to pay. A double insult, nothing less. Avoid San Marco Italian restaurant in Swindon at all costs.
